The Villain’s Daughter is Four and a Half

Zhou Linchuan asked if she wanted anything else, mentioning he would be going abroad soon to inspect a mine and promised to bring back some raw gemstones for her to play with. Jiang Ruyi had never seen raw gemstones before and was quite curious. She nodded, “Then bring back a few pieces.” So, when Zhou Linchuan returned to the country, he indeed brought back several raw gemstones. The stones were large, uncut, unpolished, and not much different from ordinary rocks, lacking any aesthetic appeal. Jiang Ruyi played with them for a while, but soon lost interest. It wasn’t until Zhou Linchuan said, “I’ll take you to see how raw stones are processed,” that Jiang Ruyi’s interest was piqued: “Great! I’ve never seen the transformation from raw stone to gem.” Seeing her enthusiasm, Zhou Linchuan suggested, “You could also design the shape of the cut, like stars, moons, or hearts. Oh, you’re a Rabbit, right? I could have someone carve a jade rabbit pendant for you, how about that?” Imagining a clear, jade-like little rabbit, Jiang Ruyi found it amusing and agreed without objection, “Sure. You’re the best, big brother.” Xu Xiangying, who was nearby, laughed and said, “Linchuan, just let her have her fun.” A large piece of raw stone looked quite valuable, and now it was being toyed with! Granted, she was wealthy, but this was still extravagant. Zhou Linchuan was spoiling his daughter to no end. Of course, Zhou Linchuan would never admit to this, his smile filled with indulgence: “I’m cultivating her interests and broadening her horizons.” He then carried Jiang Ruyi downstairs, and on their way out of the apartment, they ran into Jiang Boyuan: “Off work so early?” It was only four o’clock, and usually, people got off work at six or seven. Jiang Boyuan seemed to be leaving earlier and earlier each day. With his wife just back, only a fool would work overtime! Zhou Linchuan understood his thoughts and teased, “Keep up the good work, brother.” Jiang Boyuan was puzzled: “???” What does that mean? Why would he need to work harder out of the blue? He frowned, looking at the precious daughter in Zhou Linchuan’s arms, “It’s so late, where are you taking Ruyi?” Zhou Linchuan replied, “I just set up a raw stone processing factory; I’m taking Ruyi to have a look.” “Oh, make sure you’re safe.” “Yeah.” “Ruyi, listen to your brother and don’t run around, okay?” “Got it, Dad.” Then, she waved her hand, adding with a smile, “Go for it, Dad.” Jiang Boyuan: “…” He was even more confused: What was all this cheering about? Zhou Linchuan, seeing his confusion, found it amusing. He thought of Ruyi cheering him on too, which made him even happier: Does this silly girl even know what she’s cheering for? They got into the car. Zhou Linchuan couldn’t help but laugh, “Little Ruyi, why did you tell your dad to go for it? Do you know what it means?” Jiang Ruyi played with the Bodhi seed pendant in the car, responding, “Of course.” “What do you mean?” “Go for it and have a little brother!” “Ha—” Zhou Linchuan was shocked: “…You want a little brother?” He actually wanted to ask: How did you know that’s what I was talking about! Indeed, he hoped Jiang Boyuan would work harder to get Xu Xiangying pregnant again, so they wouldn’t compete for Ruyi’s affection.
