The Yandere Demon King’s Obsession 1

Early the next morning, the woman bringing breakfast added a reminder: “His Majesty will be out today. If you need anything, you can summon me at any time.” Saying this, she took a small bell from her apron pocket and handed it to Nelly: “Shake it three times, and I will appear.” Nelly nodded: “I want to go to the library later.” The other woman smiled: “Then I’ll come to guide you.” After closing the door, Nelly took a deep breath, placing the food from the tray into her storage space, and then poured the red tea into the nameless sponge. After thinking, she took a thick cloak from the wardrobe and threw it into the storage compartment – who knew where she would spend the night?

Nelly wandered aimlessly for two rounds, and she realized that her forehead was slightly sweaty. She chuckled, feeling nervous.

She had considered that this might be a trap set by Kalsas, but even with the slimmest hope, she couldn’t bear to let it slip away. As long as she left the demon’s lair and reconnected to the system, she could use it to find a better way out. She stared at the last teleportation scroll in the storage compartment, bit her lip, and decided to return to the city immediately after connecting to the system – escape first and talk later!

Having made her decision and repeatedly reviewing the escape plan in her mind, Nelly became calmer. She stood by the window, looking at the magnificent scenery for a while, then mustered her spirits, opened the door, and rang the bell three times.

“Please follow me,” the woman appeared out of thin air, bowing slightly and walking ahead.

Nelly carefully observed the route while trying to make casual conversation: “I haven’t asked for your name yet.”

The other party smiled: “An insignificant familiar like me has no name.”

“It’s fine,” the familiar with a woman’s appearance looked magnanimous, clearly not minding, “Some familiars have names, but I’m not qualified yet.”

“Of course,” the woman softly laughed, then stopped walking and avoided further discussion, instead opening the heavy oak door for Nelly, “We’re here.”

Nelly smiled and thanked her, wandered among the bookshelves, casually pulled out an atlas, glanced through it, and then put it back. Standing in the brilliant light of the rose window, she looked up at the mythical figures in the colorful glass, feeling somewhat heavy-hearted.

When she first arrived in Veldia, she thought she would leave soon and had no intention of understanding this world. But now, she had acknowledged the existence of this continent – whether it was the innkeeper or the ocean surrounding the continent, everything was real. Even if she maintained that her reality was not here, she could no longer treat everything in this world as a result of data stacking.

People here also suffer and feel happiness.

How would Kalsas react if he discovered her attempt to escape?

Nelly rubbed her forehead, sighed deeply, took a last look at the library, and left.

Walking alone in the empty corridor, with no one around, Nelly didn’t feel at ease…

Rushing into the Demon Forest, the ground was uneven, covered with fallen leaves, and various vines and branches were obstructive.

Nali’s speed involuntarily slowed down, nearly being struck by long spears several times.

In a moment of distraction, Nali’s left foot suddenly stepped into empty air.

She didn’t have time to cry out before falling abruptly.

Nali would have preferred falling into Alice’s rabbit hole, which would at least allow her to leave this damned world. But she just fell heavily onto the dusty ground, hastily looking around to find a tangled mass of tree roots.

Even worse…

The red-haired, explosive-headed hero had already fearlessly jumped down.

Nali instinctively tried to jump up, but her left ankle suddenly hurt intensely, causing her to stagger and fall back.

“Wait! I’m not the Demon King!”

The spear tip that was about to strike hesitated suspiciously.

Nali raised both hands, forcing an ugly smile: “Do I look like the Demon King? I’m System 1028’s elf Nali, captured by the Demon King. Nice to meet you, hero.”

“An elf?” The red-haired youth looked stunned.

As they were about to reach the edge of the Demon Forest, Roland quickened his pace. But he suddenly stopped.

Naily, caught off guard, bumped heavily into his back, letting out a muffled groan. Roland put her down from his back, took out the ice-blue long spear, and blocked Naily’s line of sight with his back. His voice lowered: “You need to find a way to escape quickly.”

Naily’s face turned pale, trembling as she opened the system interface. Before she could connect to the interaction port, a sharp sound broke the silence, and the red text “Connection Interrupted” instantly filled the screen.

She stepped out from behind Roland, seeing Kalsas ten steps away. He wasn’t wearing a mask, but his expression was lifeless. His deep red eyes settled calmly on Naily, sending a shiver down her spine. She hadn’t expected him to arrive so quickly. There was no escape. Naily felt anger and despair. Just because of his ambiguous notion of liking? Her fingertips dug into her palm, but she couldn’t feel any pain. In an extremely low voice, she said hoarsely: “Roland, leave now.”

” I came here for the Demon King anyway, so this works out perfectly,” Roland became playful again, whistling and lowering his body into a sprint position.

He glanced back: “Besides, someone who couldn’t protect their own system spirit from the start has no right to talk about saving the world. Leave it to me, Naily. I’m a hero, after all.”

Naily’s vision blurred from his words. Her hoarse dissuasion sounded weak: “But…”

Roland didn’t let her finish, again shouting loudly: “Die, Demon King! –” The SSS-grade item, the Extreme Cold Spear, emitted a fierce and beautiful blue light, with snowflakes falling around, unexpectedly adding a touch of gentleness to the horrific forest.

Naily staggered, supporting herself against a tree trunk, dragging her swollen left foot slowly. She knew she couldn’t escape, but she still wanted to try futilely, not wanting to betray Roland’s intentions.

The blue light suddenly extinguished.

Naily looked over and saw the Extreme Cold Spear bathed in blazing flames. She watched as Kalsas expressionlessly raised his large sword with one hand, the blade piercing through the red-haired youth’s chest.

Blood splattered on Kalsas’s face, a deep red similar to his eye color. Roland faced away from Naily, his body softening, red hair disheveled. Then his form dissolved into thousands of light particles. Naily’s breath seemed frozen by the earlier snow particles.

Her face was almost blank, her azure eyes wide but slightly unfocused. She suddenly shuddered, finally returning to reality. Her injured leg finally gave way, and she collapsed to the ground. She struggled to get up, but black robes and matching boots were already before her eyes. Looking up, the black-haired, red-eyed youth’s expression was as indifferent as when they first met. He exhaled two simple syllables, almost like a question: “Naily.”

“Naily.” Naily had never hated her name as much as she did now. Being called this only made her feel disgust and exhaustion. Guilt surged in waves; she bit back her tears and propped herself up, slowly twisting into an awkward sitting position. Her left ankle throbbed painfully, but she didn’t make a sound, instead speaking in an unnaturally calm tone: “I broke the promise. I ran away.” She had originally wanted to reveal the matter about the red tea, but Kalsas crouched down, meeting her at eye level, and said casually: “Naily, you’re hurt.” Naily stubbornly shook her head, about to speak again: “I…” Kalsas extended his index finger to stop her lips. His finger still carried a lingering bloody scent. Naily jolted, wanting to retreat, but the other’s movements were as quick as always.
