Naily took a breath and stood up. Feeling slightly dizzy, she took deep breaths, supporting Karl’s head and neck, dragging him towards the beach’s end. After just a few steps, Naily was already out of breath. She temporarily put Karl down and opened the system interface, which was filled with connection interruption messages. Looking at the unconscious wizard, Naily bit her lip, hesitating for a moment.
But she quickly became resolute: After all, he had saved her. Naily suppressed the urge to collapse and bent down. “Need help?” The sudden voice startled Naily almost into dropping Karl. Turning back, she saw Gerard, covered in seaweed. His appearance was comical, but his expression was calm, more approachable than when he was dressed formally on the ship.
Naily’s gaze swept between the two wizards. Gerard let out a disdainful sneer: “I’m not going to attack him at a time like this.” “Then trouble yourself,” Naily didn’t hesitate. She knew she could never drag Karl all the way and needed to ask for help when necessary.
Gerard appeared uninjured, breathing slightly when carrying Karl to the beach’s end. He disgustedly threw seaweed from his head and pointed at a spot nearby, causing a vigorous flame to erupt, burning a fire on the sand and stones. “Where’s the Hero?” Gerard’s tone was again mockingly condescending.
Naily shook her head, opening the system interface and unable to find the Hero’s red dot on the map: “Don’t know for now, I’ll go look.” Gerard took clothes from his magic pocket, instantly clean and fresh, wearing that soft, privileged smile: “You should first handle your own wounds.” Naily followed his gaze to her calves, taking out healing potion and casually applying it.
After drying her clothes by the fire, Naily said: “I’ll go check the other beach.” Gerard pressed his hand down: “Let Gerard handle it.” Naily frowned. “You can barely walk. Leaving rashly if you can’t return would only cause more trouble.” “Thank you,” Naily knew he was right and expressed gratitude. He showed a smooth, somewhat effeminate smile: “You saved Gerard’s life. Kalinsians repay a life-saving grace with three favors.” He winked slyly: “The first was just now, this is the second, and for the third, you can consider carefully.” Naily was momentarily speechless. Court magicians are indeed different… Gerard twisted his fingers, a turquoise light appearing in his palm. He uttered strangely pronounced words, and the light ball flew into the sky, spinning a few times before returning to his hand. Flipping his green hair, he looked down and curved his lips towards Naily: “It seems the Hero is unharmed. Please be at ease, Gerard will return quickly.”
