This Princess is Tired of Living

“No way! Tell your prince I’m not interested! If he forces me, I’ll run away!” She had reluctantly agreed to his terms, but endured these old torments. If she had known, she wouldn’t have accepted.

“Please, miss, don’t make this difficult for us! If the prince finds out, we’ll face thirty lashes! Have mercy on us!” The matron pleaded.

“Then stop wasting time and make a thick pad to sit on for when you’re beaten!” Lan Ling’er shot back.

“Miss, the prince said if we don’t discipline you within two days, he’ll have all five of us killed! Can you really bear to send us to our deaths?” The matrons couldn’t touch her, as the prince had ordered, so they attempted to communicate verbally. Despite their efforts, this young lady remained motionless in bed. They seemed to need to use their ultimate technique.

“Miss, can you really bear to have us beheaded?” The five women knelt and pleaded with Lan Ling’er, unsure if the technique taught by the prince would work.

“Fine! I’ll get up!” She couldn’t stand anyone kneeling to her, especially these five women who were nearly three hundred years old.

“Thank you, miss!” The matrons laughed and began their lesson.

“First, walk like a lady! Second, eat in small bites! Third, speak elegantly! Fourth, move gracefully!” Looking at Lan Ling’er, who sat with legs crossed, loudly chewing an apple, they instructed softly.

“Oh! I understand! Let’s begin!” She aimed to finish quickly and be free of their entanglement, as these actions were easy for her.

“Miss, you…” Su Nanny pointed at Lan Ling’er’s legs softly.

“Oh! Just an accident! Okay, I’ll demonstrate those four points for you. If you’re satisfied, let me go back to sleep! Walking!” Lan Ling’er stood and took small steps forward, but Su Nanny placed a stool in front of her, which she cheerfully jumped over.

“No! Miss, if there’s an obstacle, you must go around! This is the most elegant posture for a lady!” Su Nanny demonstrated.

“How troublesome! So if there’s a river on the right and a ravine on the left, should I jump in?”

“These ancient people were really complicated. What etiquette was this? Walking horizontally or vertically was still walking!
