Whose Love is Not Lonely

Song Lian Yan was equally direct, “Fine, I won’t beat around the bush. To be honest, I’m Song Yun Hua’s sister…”

With this revelation, Chu Yue was greatly surprised. She had originally thought the other party simply disliked her books and wanted to attack her, but unexpectedly, she was Gu Yun Zhi’s sister-in-law.

A chill rose in Chu Yue’s heart. This woman was impressive, silently tracking her movements and sending her sister to catch her off guard!

She took a deep breath and calmly looked at Song Lian Yan, “What do you want?”

Song Lian Yan was momentarily stunned. Chu Yue’s demeanor was unexpected. She had thought Chu Yue would be shocked, afraid, or timid, but instead, she was calm and composed. She laughed in anger, “Does Miss Shen think being a mistress is something honorable?”

The words “Xiao San’er” touched the most sensitive nerve in Chu Yue’s heart. She suppressed her anger and said calmly, “Yun Zhi has the right to pursue his own happiness…” Before she could finish, Song Lianru interrupted her: “Stop calling him Yun Zhi! I’m embarrassed, and you should be too! Remember your identity. You’re just a shameless mistress. What right do you have to call someone else’s husband so intimately?” She looked at Chu Yue sarcastically, “Besides, how do you know he’s not happy? Did he tell you personally that he’s unhappy? Or did he promise to divorce my sister and marry you? At best, you’re just a bed warmer. Do you really think you can turn the tables?”

Chu Yue’s face changed dramatically. Even the best temper couldn’t withstand such a barrage!

She forcibly suppressed her impulse to storm off, instead coldly staring at Song Lianru: “If there’s a marriage defense battle to be fought, it should be fought by Song Yunhua herself. Who are you to interfere?”

Song Lianru laughed instead of getting angry. “My sister doesn’t come because she doesn’t even take you seriously. I’m the one who can’t stand it and came to say something! Moreover, my sister and brother-in-law have never talked about divorce. Why would she fight a marriage defense battle? They’ve been married for eight years, never had a serious argument, always respectful to each other, with an almost perfect marriage. How long have you known my brother-in-law? What makes you say he’s unhappy? How much do you know about their married life?”

She narrowed her eyes at Chu Yue. “Just last winter, my sister came back from a business trip. The train was three hours late, and she fell asleep on the train due to exhaustion and forgot to tell her husband who was picking her up. Her husband waited at the station for three full hours! It was a freezing cold night! When my sister got off the train and saw her husband, who was almost frozen, he didn’t blame her at all. Instead, he smiled and asked if she was hungry or tired, and she couldn’t help but cry!”

She stared directly at Chu Yue. “If a man doesn’t deeply love a woman, how could he suffer so much for her?”

If a woman doesn’t care for a man, how could she be so moved by his actions?”

Chu Yue was instantly stunned. Song Lianru coldly laughed: “Shen Chu Yue, wake up! Do you think my brother-in-law really loves you? He’s just enjoying the novelty. Once he gets tired of you, he’ll naturally leave. Besides, in terms of looks, you’re not as good as my sister. In terms of talent, you’re not as good. In social status, you’re even worse! Apart from being younger, what do you have that compares to her? Why would my brother-in-law choose copper coins over gold?”

Chu Yue could no longer listen. Cold sweat poured down her back. Song Lianru’s humiliating words were like a sharp knife stabbing directly into her heart, instantly spreading pain throughout her entire body, causing her to bend over! Her remaining self-esteem told her not to surrender, not to be defeated, to fight back and defend herself. But her body felt drained of blood, without even the strength to speak. She could only sit there, pale as paper, unable to say a word.

Seeing her lost and dejected state, Song Lianru was extremely satisfied. Having achieved her goal, she stood up, leaned close to Chu Yue and threatened: “If you continue to pester my brother-in-law, don’t blame me for exposing your shameful actions online, letting your readers know that the person they admire is nothing more than a mistress. Don’t say I didn’t give you face!” With a cold laugh, she triumphantly turned and left.

Chu Yue bit her lip hard, preventing herself from crying. Her mind replayed the scene of that winter night of picking her up. If a man doesn’t deeply love a woman, how could he suffer so much for her? All her hopes crumbled, and tears finally fell.

Chu’e was alone in a bar, drinking herself into oblivion. She lay on the bar counter, hoping to drown her sorrows, but the bitterness in her heart remained unresolved.

Soon, her thoughts began to blur, and her head spun.

“Miss, may I buy you a drink?” A man next to her offered a glass of alcohol. Chu’e lazily lifted her head, looking at him with bleary, drunken eyes. She knew she was drunk and shouldn’t drink anymore, but she took the drink and downed it in one gulp.

“What a great drinking capacity, miss!” The man said, his ordinary features seeming to glow under the bar lights. “Let me buy you another drink!” He immediately signaled the bartender.

“No, I can’t drink anymore, I… I want to go home!” Chu’e mumbled, wobbling as she tried to get up from the bar. The man quickly offered, “Where do you live? Let me take you home!” Without waiting for a response, he supported her and grabbed her bag from the bar, guiding her unsteady body outside.

Chu’e struggled, “Go away, I… don’t want you to take me!”

” But the man held her tightly, making it impossible for her to break free. He was determined not to let his prey escape easily, pushing and half-carrying her out of the bar.

The cold wind hit her face, sobering her up halfway. “Who are you? Where are you taking me?”

The man looked at her beautiful face with a lustful gaze. “I’m here to protect you, miss. How about coming with me for some fun?”

“Get lost, you bastard!” She tried to break free from his arms. But her small frame was no match for the large, strong man. In no time, he dragged her into a dim alley next to the bar.

“Help!” Chu’e screamed, but her cry was immediately muffled by the man’s hand. The alley’s dim light cast shadows on his face, making him look increasingly menacing. Chu’e’s eyes widened in terror.

The man’s strength was extraordinary. He pinned her tightly in the corner, one hand covering her mouth, the other impatiently reaching towards her. Chu’e was both angry and frightened, her limbs pressed against the wall, unable to call for help, only able to struggle and make muffled sounds, her eyes filled with pleading and fear.

As the man began to unbuckle his pants, Chu’e summoned all her strength and kicked him hard in the groin. He let out a painful cry, releasing his grip on her, bending over and clutching himself.

Chu’e took advantage of his pain and ran out of the alley as fast as she could.

Hearing urgent footsteps behind her, she panicked and looked back to see the man, teeth bared and furious, chasing after her. Terrified, she ran with all her might, sprinting out of the alley.

Standing on the bright, bustling street, she was still catching her breath. Looking back, the man had disappeared, and she finally exhaled deeply.

After her frantic run, she instinctively reached into her bag for a tissue, only to realize her bag was gone – along with her keys, wallet, and ID. Chu’e was stunned.

The October night was already cold, and she stood shivering in the wind. Go home? No keys. Go to a hotel? No ID, no money! She stood bewildered on the busy street, not knowing what to do.
