Whose Love is Not Lonely

During their time in Zhuhai, Gu Yunzhi had bought a small dress for Yun Lei at her shop, similar in style to the one he had previously stained, but with better quality and a much higher price. Yun Lei refused to accept payment, saying it was a friendly sponsorship for Chu Yue, but Gu Yunzhi still transferred the money to her account and insisted on buying her a gift. This made Yun Lei exclaim that she would definitely look for a husband like Gu Yunzhi in the future!

Days passed uneventfully. Chu Yue was finishing her novel, rushing to meet her editor’s deadline and too busy to do anything else.

One morning half a month later, Chu Yue woke up with a splitting headache, her body weak and limp, her nose itchy and wanting to sneeze. Dazedly getting up, she felt dizzy and collapsed again.

Chu Yue knew she had caught a bad cold. The night before, she had left the air conditioning on all night and sometime during the night, her blanket had fallen off the bed, but she was too lazy to pick it up and continued sleeping. After rushing to complete her novel for several days, she was exhausted and just wanted to sleep.

Now, she was sick. The carefree single life suddenly felt helpless. Chu Yue curled up in bed, sneezing continuously, tissues scattered everywhere, her head throbbing unbearably.

She found her phone from under the pillow and entered Lin Lan’s phone number. This time, a mechanical voice came through: “The number you have dialed is not in service area!” She realized that Lin Lan was on her honeymoon in the Maldives.

But besides Lin Lan, who else could help her? Yun Lei was far away in Zhuhai, and apart from the publishing house editors, she really didn’t have any close friends. At this moment, Chu Yue felt the taste of loneliness, with a hint of desolation rising in her heart. Since her parents passed away, she had become accustomed to living alone. She would write novels, tend to flowers, occasionally go shopping, get beauty treatments, watch movies, and attend writing gatherings. Only when this illness came did she realize the terribleness of being alone.
