The rain continued to fall softly. Chu Yue walked aimlessly in the rain, her tears mixing with the rainwater. Gu Yunzhi had chosen such a rainy day to break up with her; the scene was so melodramatic! How ridiculous, wasn’t it? She laughed coldly.
Not knowing how long she had walked, her entire body was soaked, and she continued to walk in a daze. She had only wanted to be with the person she loved, even without a name or status. But why couldn’t even that be possible?
The sharp, urgent sound of a car braking pulled her thoughts back. She looked up, realizing she had somehow walked to the middle of the road. The driver in the small car stuck out a face still in shock: “Miss, don’t you value your life?”
A strong hand pulled her to the side, and then an umbrella was placed over her head. She turned and, through her blurry vision, saw Gu Yunzhi’s eyes filled with worry and anxiety. He had been following her all along! Her tears began to fall uncontrollably.
“Why do you treat yourself so badly? Don’t you know your body is weak and you’re prone to illness?” he sighed softly, his eyes hiding deep pain.
She looked at him dazedly, tears falling like rain. “You don’t want me anymore, so what’s the use of keeping this broken body?”
Gu Yunzhi’s heart ached as if cut by a knife. He said nothing, just hailed a taxi, pushed her inside, handed her the umbrella, gave the driver an address, and then turned to leave.
“Yunzhi!” Chu Yue cried out sharply, but he did not look back, leaving decisively.
In a distant corner, a red POLO was parked quietly. Inside the car, Song Lirui asked Song Yunhua worriedly: “Sister, looking at their life-or-death appearance, do you think they can really separate?”
Song Yunhua snorted coldly, a confident smile on her lips. “Based on my understanding of Yunzhi, they will!”
“That’s good!” Song Lirui was relieved. “Sister, I really admire you. Seeing such a scene, you can still remain calm. If it were me, I would have rushed up and slapped them both!”
