Tao Yu’s mouth twitched. Although she found it ridiculous, she quickly agreed, “I’ll take care of the prison guard’s program.”
The three elders were surprised by her quick agreement and immediately began to lavish her with praise, blowing rainbow farts before dispersing.
Tao Yu sneered, not feeling like she was at a disadvantage by taking the prison guard’s program. After all, if no one from her section participated, she would at least have one program as a backup, and they wouldn’t be able to say much.
It was getting late, and she didn’t linger in the office. Holding something in her arms, she headed towards the solitary confinement room.
The night was cool as water, with the faint sound of waves hitting rocks. Yue Linze lay with his eyes closed, seemingly dozing, when his ears suddenly twitched.
He slowly opened his eyes, his eagle-like gaze narrowing before becoming languid again.
The next second, the small window on the door opened, and a bag was thrown in. He was initially disinclined to pay attention, but upon hearing Tao Yu’s voice, he sat up.
“Eat,” Tao Yu glanced at him and turned to leave.
Yue Linze looked at the bag on the ground. Although thrown carelessly, the bag was carefully tied.
He curved his lips, gently kicked the bag with his toe, and lay back down. Three minutes later, he was enjoying the still-warm steamed bun with side dishes.
After finishing a large steamed bun, his empty stomach finally felt satisfied. Yue Linze closed his eyes contentedly and quickly fell asleep.
Tao Yu, however, couldn’t sleep. Lying on the bed in her single dormitory, she tossed and turned, thinking about the welcome performance. The thought of the troublemakers under her command made her head ache.
She hadn’t expected that her first challenge after entering this world would come from others, not Yue Linze.
Tao Yu sighed and drifted off to sleep amid her worries.
In her dream, Yue Linze and Li Xun wore grass skirts and spent the night battling to Indian music.
When she woke up the next day, her ears were still filled with ‘It’s so cold, I’m playing in the mud in the Northeast’. Looking at her tired face in the mirror, Tao Yu decided to go talk to those people.
