Yandere Begs for a Break – Part One

Yue Linze glanced at him lightly. “Get out of the way, you’re blocking my sun.”

“…Okay, I’m leaving.” Pangzi, seeing that Yue Linze wasn’t angry, immediately breathed a sigh of relief and left.

With no one bothering him, Yue Linze leaned against a rock, his gaze fixed on the window where he had exchanged glances with someone earlier. This time, he waited through an entire volleyball game, but the curtain never opened again.

“Ungrateful,” Yue Linze muttered.

Tao Yu rested for two days before going to the office at Old Chang’s urging. Old Chang had been furious before seeing her, thinking the newcomer was getting too lazy—not patrolling and now not even coming to the office, acting like the inspection team was only for the old-timers.

But when he saw Tao Yu, he couldn’t bring himself to scold her. She looked genuinely worn out, her face gaunt. It seemed she really was sick and not faking it.

Old Chang frowned. “Why do you look so tired?”

“Don’t mention it,” Tao Yu said casually. “I’ve been persuading them to sign up for performances. I finally succeeded, but as soon as I relaxed, I got really sick.” Tao Yu could easily make up stories now, knowing that none of them followed regular work hours and were all skilled at slacking off.

Old Chang had nothing more to say. After all, their area only signed up for one performance, while Tao Yu had three in total. He coughed. “Even if you love your work, you need to take care of your health. Remember, health is the foundation of everything.”

“I know,” Tao Yu smiled. “Is there something you need me for?”

“Nothing much, just remind your area to rehearse quickly. The inspection team arrives in five days, and we need to do a dress rehearsal in two days.”

Tao Yu nodded. “Okay, I’ll go check on their progress right away.”

“Good,” Old Chang looked at Tao Yu seriously. “You need to work hard and not get discouraged because you’re sick. Remember, we’ve been trying to help you by not involving you in the stage and socializing tasks. You should be grateful.”
