Yandere Begs for a Break – Part One

“How are you different? You and they are all prisoners in this prison,” Tao Yu turned to stare at him, hoping he would continue and tell her he was wrongly accused and capable of leaving.

Yue Linze met her gaze for a long time, then finally smiled, “You’re right. I’m also a prisoner here.”

It was like a balloon in her heart had been punctured. Tao Yu was stunned for a long time before slowly looking back at the stage.

“So, we were never equal. You should stop trying to appear righteously by my side,” Tao Yu said softly, “After all, when I leave, we’ll be completely over.”

Yue Linze lowered his eyes. He wanted to say it didn’t matter, but the words stuck in his throat. Pointless. He didn’t even believe it himself, so why pretend for Tao Yu?

“Officer Tao! It’s your turn next!” Zhou Ying ran over, bending down, “Backstage asked me to remind you.”

Tao Yu nodded, “Okay, I’m coming.”

“I’ll take you,” Zhou Ying said, then awkwardly nodded at Yue Linze before calling Tao Yu to go.

The two walked to the backstage, one after the other. Yue Linze coldly watched their backs, finding it unbearably irritating.

“Boss, stop looking. They’re different from us,” the fat guy, who had appeared at some unknown time, looked at Yue Linze sympathetically. He had figured out in these days that Officer Tao seemed to be wavering between two men, with the balance gradually tilting towards Zhou Ying, which was why the boss looked so gloomy.

Yue Linze glanced at him, “How are we different?”

“… They have various choices after leaving this island, but we don’t. Just like our conflict with Zone Five, we see it as crucial, but to these prison guards, it might be a joke. Our status is different, so forget about being on equal footing,” the fat guy sighed.

He hadn’t expected Officer Tao’s heart to change so quickly, losing interest in the boss before he even tired of her.

Yue Linze remained silent for a long time, then coldly laughed. Just as he was about to speak, the stage lights changed, and Tao Yu went up.

Zone Five and Six, usually at odds, now cheered unanimously when Tao Yu appeared. The fat guy also stood up and applauded.

The stage lights were bright, and Tao Yu couldn’t see anything below. Whether from nervousness or something else, she began to feel palpitations and started sweating.

Yue Linze noticed her discomfort and frowned. But with the music already playing, he remained below, waiting to endure the performance before heading backstage.

When Tao Yu came down from the stage, she felt nauseous. Fortunately, it was better than before.

Zhou Ying had been waiting there and asked curiously when he saw her, “What’s wrong?”

“I don’t know. Feels like low blood sugar,” Tao Yu recalled her symptoms.

Zhou Ying frowned, “Did you skip dinner?”

Tao Yu said nothing. In recent days, because of Yue Linze, she had hardly eaten properly. No wonder she felt sick under the stage lights.

“Do you want to rest or go to the medical room for an IV?” Zhou Ying asked.

Tao Yu thought for a moment and sighed, “I’ll stay here and rest. The people in my zone are too unstable. Who knows what they might do if I’m not around.
