“Do you like it? I’ll buy ten for you,” Yue Linze curved his lips, feeling for the first time that money wasn’t so bad—at least it could please his girlfriend.
Tao Yu laughed: “Even if you give me a hundred, I won’t care.” Anyway, such things would disappear once she returned to the real world.
Yue Linze looked at her smile, his heart full. He steered the car onto the highway and slowly spoke: “I recently learned some things that made me realize I should have gotten out earlier.”
“What?” Tao Yu looked at him curiously.
Yue Linze’s mouth curved up: “I investigated someone’s background and discovered that my little girlfriend actually studied psychology. Why did she suddenly become a prison guard?”
“The pay is good. You investigated me,” Tao Yu gave him a sidelong glance, “What else did you find?”
Yue Linze’s smile became more unrestrained: “I also found out she not only has no fiancé but hasn’t even been in a relationship. All those previous stories were lies to me.”
“…” Tao Yu blushed, pretending not to hear.
Yue Linze glanced at her: “So, the ‘gentleman’ you mentioned, was someone you had a crush on?”
“No,” Tao Yu immediately responded.
Yue Linze asked interestedly: “Then who was it?” Now that he knew she had no fiancé and he was her only man, he felt more justified in his curiosity.
Tao Yu was silent for a moment, then difficultly said: “It was you.”
“Me?” Yue Linze raised an eyebrow.
Tao Yu sighed, frustrated that she couldn’t prove it: “Believe it or not.”
“I believe you,” Yue Linze said easily.
Tao Yu raised an eyebrow: “Why?”
“Why wouldn’t I?” he responded smoothly.
I’ll believe whatever you say from now on,” Yue Linze looked at her, his eyes filled with possessiveness, “From now on, I’ll always be watching you. Your body and heart can only belong to me.”
If it were an ordinary girl, she would probably be too scared to speak, but Tao Yu felt no fear; instead, her heart was completely filled.
The car sped along the highway. Tao Yu suddenly wanted to open the window for some air, so she cracked the window, and the wind immediately rushed in, making her feel like she was back on the island: “You’re out now. What are your plans?”
