Yandere Begs for a Break – Part One

The butler looked worried for Tao Yu. They had left in a hurry and hadn’t prepared clothes for her, and now she might be humiliated by these snobbish eyes.

Unlike the butler’s worry, Tao Yu confidently accepted everyone’s scrutiny and smiled at Zhou Yanran: “Ms. Zhou, how forgetful. Didn’t we meet before when you came to cry to Linze? How are you now mistaking me for a servant?”

Her words instantly changed the expressions of Yue Linying and Zhou Yanran. Zhou Yanran angrily said: “What are you talking about? When did I go to find Linze? Stop spreading nonsense!”

Tao Yu seemed momentarily stunned and then panicked: “I’m sorry, I misspoke. Please don’t take it to heart, Ms. Zhou.”

Zhou Yanran relaxed, thinking she was easily intimidated. She coldly said: “Just make sure you understand. Don’t gossip here.”

Tao Yu, seeing the ugly expressions of Yue Linying and Gu Yansheng, was satisfied and stopped talking. Zhou Yanran seemed smart but wasn’t bright enough to understand that her desperate explanation only increased others’ suspicions.

The image of an older sister-in-law going to cry to her younger brother-in-law was quite an awkward scenario.

Tao Yu’s interruption made everyone forget to ask about her background. She candidly said: “I’m a rehabilitation therapist. As for my family background, my father died early, my mother passed away from uremia, and I owe the hospital a lot of money. So I might be slightly worse off than the proletariat.”

Having connected to Yue Linze’s brainwaves earlier, she had prepared to use her real-world experience to minimize inconsistencies and better integrate into this world.

The people present were surprised by her low-status background – some sympathetic, some mocking, some angry.

Only Yue Linze looked at her calmly, showing no emotion, as if her identity and experiences were irrelevant to him.

Tao Yu quite liked his attitude.

Gu Yansheng looked at her impassively, sat on the sofa, and told Yue Linying: “I need to talk to Linze. Take Yanran and go rest.”

He looked at Yue Linying, who silently nodded: “Yanran, let’s go rest.” He needed to ask why his fiancée would go to see his adult brother.
