Tao Yu shook the chain on her hand and said coldly, “Do you think this is good?”
“Isn’t it?” Yue Linze said indifferently. “You just need to completely belong to me. I’ll give you everything that all women in the world would envy, and you just need to enjoy it.”
Tao Yu looked at him for a long time before sighing, “But I don’t like this life without freedom, and consequently, I don’t like you anymore.”
What Yue Linze wanted was for her to completely belong to him, but that was too difficult. She wasn’t a thoughtless doll that could be left in a room for so long. And since she couldn’t do that, Yue Linze’s hostility would not subside. This was an unsolvable dead loop, and she could only choose to withdraw.
Yue Linze’s heart was like it had been struck, the festering wound on his chest now bleeding again because of her words, but he seemed to feel no pain, almost masochistically staring at Tao Yu.
“You don’t love me,” Yue Linze stated after a long silence.
Tao Yu’s heart ached, and her first reaction was to deny, but she quickly came to her senses. “Sorry.”
Yue Linze let out a light laugh, seeming somewhat absent-minded. “It doesn’t matter. As long as you know you’re mine.”
“Mr. Yue, I am a person with an independent personality,” Tao Yu frowned.
Before she could say more, a knock came at the door. Yue Linze said casually, “Come in.”
The door opened, and the fragrance of food wafted in. Tao Yu’s mouth immediately began to salivate, though her expression remained unmoved.
The female servant quickly placed the food on the table and retreated.
Yue Linze tapped the table with his fingertips. “Eat.”
Facing the delicious meal, Tao Yu was shamefully tempted for a moment, but ultimately controlled herself.
Yue Linze waited for a while, seeing she was determined to resist, and slowly asked, “I’m still your patient, right?”
Tao Yu frowned at him, not understanding why he brought this up.
Yue Linze let out a light laugh, pulling up the leg of his right pants to reveal a hideous wound.
