Three days before the Lunar New Year’s Eve… That was the day Shao Tingyu brought up the topic of divorce with himself. Lin Mengmeng had always thought the reason he decided to divorce was because they lacked love. Now, it seemed there might be another explanation. Lin Mengmeng saw all this, feeling pain even in her breath. That night, Shao Tingyu still did not come back. Lin Mengmeng sat by the bay window, staring into the thick darkness, feeling as if a boulder was pressing down on her heart, making it hard to breathe. She even harbored thoughts of escape, as if not facing it could make it seem like it never happened. Suddenly, she remembered Chen Zhe’s words, pondered for a while, and then called the person in charge of the rural medical outreach at the hospital. “Director, how long is the cycle for the rural medical outreach?” The director paused, “A week.” A week… she could return before her brother’s death anniversary.
