As I was pondering the possible connection between the stones and the corridor, Liang Yingwu, lying beside me, suddenly moved and sat up. I opened my eyes but could only see a vague, dark silhouette; it was almost like being blind. The flashlight’s light was too weak and would soon go out completely. Just as I was about to speak to Liang Yingwu, he stood up. I was taken aback, watching him walk towards the makeshift latrine made from human bones. In the absolute silence of the cave, even the sound of someone urinating could be heard clearly, especially the sound of urine hitting the bones, audible even from a dozen meters away. After finishing, Liang Yingwu didn’t return to lie down but walked straight towards the corridor. I propped myself up slightly, noticing that Bian Xiaowei was on duty with the flashlight, which was placed on the ground with his head resting on his hand, likely having fallen asleep. Liang Yingwu, however, showed no intention of returning; it seemed he had entered the corridor. What was he up to? Recalling his hesitance to speak last night, I was sure he had discovered something. I got up, leaving the others asleep, unsure if they were awake, and followed Liang Yingwu into the corridor with my flashlight.
