Cunning CEO Loves to Be Jealous

Shi Xuan, with her typically carefree personality, would actually confess her love to a boy she’d just met?!

Good heavens, had she gone crazy?

What surprised them even more was that to pursue her desired object, Shi Xuan truly gave her all, persistently. She prepared breakfast for An Zhang every day, brought him an umbrella when it rained, handed him drinks when he was thirsty, and was attentive and caring.

For his casual comment “I want to eat donuts,” she fearlessly stood in long lines under the scorching sun to buy them for him.

When he casually said: “I really want some coffee.”

She immediately responded: “I’ll buy it. Wait a moment.”

“But I want Kopi Luwak coffee.”

“Kopi Luwak? What kind of bowl is that?” She had never even heard of it.

“It’s a coffee made from beans eaten and excreted by a cat.”

What? So it’s basically poop – he actually wanted to drink a cat’s excrement! How disgusting.

“That coffee shop is quite far. Although I really want to drink it now, forget it. I wouldn’t want to trouble you to run so far. I’d feel bad.” His gentle voice was full of consideration.

She was immediately mesmerized by his lazy, pleasant voice and passionately replied: “No, no, no, it’s not far at all. I can quickly get it by motorcycle.”

“Is that so? Then trouble yourself.” A shallow smile curved his lips, and he looked at her sincerely.

Shi Xuan’s eyes instantly filled with hearts, completely enchanted by his charming smile and focused gaze, laughing foolishly: “No trouble, not troublesome at all.”

An Zhang took out his wallet, preparing to give her money for the coffee, but she forcefully shook her head.

“No need. I’ll pay for the coffee.”

He hesitated slightly, “That coffee isn’t cheap.”

“It’s fine, fine. I can afford it.”

Shi Xuan originally thought the coffee would cost at most one or two hundred dollars. However, after riding for almost half an hour to the specified coffee shop, she was shocked to learn the price. A small cup of coffee was so expensive it would almost drain her entire month’s pocket money.

After half a year, she and he had only reached first base, holding hands just once – and that was because she almost stepped in dog poop, and he kindly pulled her hand to warn her.

Then she couldn’t bear to wash her hand for two days.

He did not have any special intimacy with her, nor was he cold and distant, treating her just like he treated others—warm and easygoing. But this was not what Shi Xuan wanted. She did not want to be just another person; she wanted to be the most special person in his heart, occupying the most important position—a throne she coveted.

Indeed, the person who made her fall in love at first sight—the more she got to know An Zhang, the more Shi Xuan found herself liking him. His character and talent were beyond reproach. Such a man made her even more determined to pursue him.

However, in order to pursue him, she had spent all her monthly allowance before the end of each month for the past half year. So when the elegant prince said—

“That piano performance was excellent, definitely worth listening to.”

Her two sharp, spirited eyebrows furrowed.

“Shi Xuan, would you like to go together?”

“Which…” She hesitated, conflicted. Rarely did the prince invite her, and she naturally wanted to go, but she had no money to buy tickets. Moreover, she knew that tickets for world-class pianist concerts were usually not cheap. Her wallet was embarrassingly empty.

“You don’t want to go? What a pity. I just happen to have two VIP tickets…” Before he could finish, Shi Xuan suddenly grabbed his arm.

“Oh, what? You have tickets? Why didn’t you say so earlier? I’ll go, I’ll go, I’ll go.” Shi Xuan’s small face lit up, eagerly hugging his arm, her bright eyes sparkling with joy.

A barely perceptible tenderness flashed in his eyes, and he said with an elegant voice, “Okay, let’s go together tomorrow.”

“What time should I come find you?” she asked happily.

“I’ll come pick you up at your dorm at six-thirty.” Her half-year of ardent pursuit had become known throughout the school, and some malicious people often made sarcastic remarks, hoping to make her a laughingstock.

Yet she remained unfazed, never complaining about the ridicule she faced in front of him, nor ever gossiping about others.

He had always appreciated her straightforward and genuine personality. Over the past half year, she had gradually seeped into his heart like water wearing away stone, occupying an important corner.

However, he did not intend to let her know that he had already fallen for her, because watching her passionately pursue him was quite entertaining.

Shi Xuan instinctively responded, “No need to be so troublesome. Let’s just meet at the entrance.”

An Zhang shook his head, “No, wait for me in your dorm. I’ll come pick you up.” His lazy voice carried an undeniable insistence.

Such a naive girl, didn’t she understand his intention?

He wanted to silence those girls who mocked her yesterday, saying she was a shrimp dreaming of swan meat, with his actions.

“Okay then,” she nodded. Realizing she had been holding his arm the whole time, she felt embarrassed and wanted to let go, but was somewhat reluctant.

Stealing a glance at his reaction and seeing he didn’t seem to mind, she boldly slid her hand down, quietly intertwining her fingers with his.

She had long noticed his fingers were slender and beautiful. In comparison, her honey-colored skin seemed a bit darker, and her already short fingers looked even shorter.

Shi Xuan wrinkled her nose, focusing on the magical sensation of his soft palm pressing against hers. His hand felt smooth as silk.

“Do you play the piano?” she asked, unconsciously playing with his fingers.

“I learned before,” An Zhang smiled, allowing her to fiddle with his hand.

“No wonder your hands are so long and beautiful,” she praised, daringly interlocking her fingers with his.

Seeing he didn’t refuse, she excitedly looked up, gazing into his smiling eyes. Her cheeks blushed, hearing her own rapidly beating heart.

He suddenly raised his other hand. She was startled, but he gently brushed a leaf from her hair, speaking with a hint of indulgence, “Would you like to hear me play?”

Ah! She was stunned with joy, then passionately responded, “Yes, yes, yes. I really want to!”

Watching her joyful face, he smiled softly, “Then come to my house this Sunday.”

Invited, she jubilantly did a backflip on the spot, cheering, “Yay, awesome!”

An Zhang was amused by her exaggerated move. He had once thought she might give up pursuing him under the stimulation of gossip, but she didn’t. Her persistence and sincerity had dissolved his defenses and touched his heart.

Seeing his smile, she bashfully shook her head.

“So… see you tomorrow night.” As if afraid he might change his mind, she quickly ran away.

The sky was overcast, but Shi Xuan’s face was radiant.

Her love must be arriving soon! She thought happily, her light steps dancing like a butterfly.

As the piano master’s long fingers slid across the keys, notes flowing sometimes melodiously, sometimes passionately, all audience members were entranced, holding their breath while listening to one piece after another.

But amidst the beautiful music, a subtle sound came from beside An Zhang.

The sound was so soft it wouldn’t disturb others’ appreciation of the piano performance. Only An Zhang noticed that as soon as a piece ended on stage, Shi Xuan had closed her eyes. He initially thought she was immersed in the beautiful music, but soon discovered she had actually fallen asleep.

Afraid her soft, slow snoring might disturb nearby audience members, he let her head rest on his shoulder.
