Four Kings and One Queen 2

Just as I was lost in my wild thoughts, a familiar male voice came from beside me: “Fool, what are you doing?” I was startled and mechanically turned my head to see a masked man in Demon Sect attire sitting by the bed, propping his chin with his hand.

I instinctively wrapped the blanket tighter around me. “You… you… don’t come near me, or else… or else…” I was so scared I could barely speak. There was a hint of laughter in his eyes: “Or else what? The paralyzing drug in your system hasn’t worn off yet.”

“Did you kidnap me?” Looking into his eyes, I felt my nerves inexplicably relax. “No,” the masked man shook his head and said deliberately, “I’m the one who hit you on the back of the head.” “Damn, do you have to be so proud about it?” If it weren’t for the drug, I’d really want to punch him.

He shook his head and sighed, “Ah, it seems the head injury last time really changed you. You’re completely different from the Ling Xiaocan of before.” How does he know my name? “Who are you?”

The masked man leaned closer: “You’ve become so slow. Before, you would recognize me immediately. And now, you’ve become so concerned about your dignity.” “Don’t make me ask again! (╰_╯)” I was angry. Doesn’t this guy understand human language?

The man remained silent, removing the black cloth covering his face, revealing a familiar visage. I immediately relaxed and slapped his face, “Ling Yan, this is your punishment for hitting me.”

“Why do you always hit my face!” Ling Yan complained. “I just saved you, okay?”

“That was just you being nosy!” I raised my foot to kick him in a sensitive area. Ling Yan grimaced, covering ‘that spot’ and gritting his teeth: “Why are you so unreasonable? Hitting and kicking in all the wrong places! Are you even a woman?”

I put my hands on my hips and turned away, “None of your business.” Ling Yan took advantage of my weakness, twisting my ear. “Ouch! Ouch! Ouch!”

“No matter what, I’m your cousin, so watch your tone! Brat,” he said, but I was powerless to resist. “I won’t! Ouch! You despicable person! Taking advantage of me, you fake gentleman!”

Just then, a voice came, “Yan, stop bullying Han’er.”

“Frost, you’re biased!” Ling Yan complained. “Last time this girl bullied me so badly, and you never spoke up for me!” Though he complained, his grip on my ear loosened.

I covered my ear and tilted my head, “Are you Ling Frost?”

Ling Frost nodded and removed his mask, revealing a gentle, kind-looking face. I gave him a thumbs up, “Frost! Your face is truly creative, born to be a bottom!”

The two looked confused, and Ling Yan asked, “What does ‘bottom’ mean?”

“If I say you’re stupid, you really are stupid! In homosexual relationships, the bottom is the one on the receiving end in bed!”

Ling Yan’s veins bulged as he came forward to knock my head, “Damn girl, stop thinking about such dirty things!”

I covered my head with a freshly made human flesh char siu bun and said, “Speaking of which, how did you two end up in a demonic cult?”

Ling Yan responded disdainfully, “What’s wrong with the demonic cult? Why do you all look down on it?”

“Oh, the demonic cult has a bad reputation! The salary isn’t high either!” I joked playfully. “You little girl, be serious,” Ling Yan added another human flesh char siu bun to my head. As I was about to yell about him, Ling Shuang walked over and gently rubbed the swollen spot on my forehead. “It must hurt. Sorry, Yan is naturally rough, don’t take it to heart.”

I gave Ling Yan a disdainful look, “Look how gentle she is, and you? Hmph!” Ling Yan’s face flushed, “If you keep talking, I’ll throw you out!” Shuang had just spoken when a middle-aged man in a demonic cult night garment walked in.

Ling Yan and Ling Shuang quickly put on their masks and knelt down, “Hall Master.”

I was frustrated. The Hall Master glanced at me and said, “Bring that young lady to the Assembly Hall.”

The Cult Leader wants to see her,” Ling Yan said, leaving without another look. Ling Shuang’s expression turned grim as she asked, “Han’er, what relationship do you have with the Cult Leader?”

I shook my head, “None at all. I don’t know him at all. He knows me, but I don’t know what he looks like. Why does he want to see me? Why are you two acting like this?” Ling Yan sighed, “Ling girl, you’re in trouble this time.”

Helplessly, I was taken to the Assembly Hall by Ling Yan and Ling Shuang. On the way, I asked, “Is your Cult Leader male or female?” “He is male,” Ling Shuang answered. “Does your Cult Leader have a family?”

“Shut up! If you keep chattering like a fly, I won’t even help collect your body!” Ling Yan said impatiently. I pouted, “Fine, I’ll be quiet. Besides, flies don’t chirp, they buzz.”

“Keep talking and I’ll cut out your tongue!” Ling Yan roared. I quickly covered my mouth. It was best to be obedient given Ling Yan’s unpredictable nature.

I remained quiet until we reached the ‘Assembly Hall.’ Ling Yan and Ling Shuang stopped, and Ling Yan said in a low voice, “Go in.” I nodded and was about to push the door when Ling Shuang grabbed my wrist, “Han’er, be careful.” I nodded again, gave a reassuring smile, and entered.

I walked for a while before reaching the inner hall. Although it was daytime, the hall was pitch black with candles lit. I looked around at the people—some wearing masks, others in black clothes with coverings. Looking up, I blurted out, “Wow! A beauty!” Everyone broke out in a cold sweat. Realizing my mistake, I quickly corrected, “Handsome man!”

After a long silence, I said, “Come on, brothers, say something. Silence is so boring. Did I say something wrong?”

The striking man sitting at the highest point chuckled, “Indeed interesting. No wonder you managed to defeat our elite assassins with just eight banana peels.”

I was stunned. The eight banana peels story had spread everywhere? I laughed stupidly and then, about to bow as in TV shows, the Cult Leader waved his hand, indicating I shouldn’t bow. “Beautiful one, come here, to my side.”

These words were complicated.

Though said without malice, in my ears, it sounded like: “Babe, come, give me a smile.”

I suddenly wanted to collapse but, fearing death, obediently went over. Looking at his enchanting face, I asked, “Cult Leader, what can I do for you?” This translated to: “Sir, how would you like me to smile? A big laugh? Hysterical laughter? Or a fake smile?”

Unexpectedly, the Cult Leader embraced me. I fell into his arms. Damn, this is harassment! I screamed internally but couldn’t voice my thoughts. Who knows what this Cult Leader’s temperament was like? He could ‘snap’ at any moment.

The Demonic Cult Leader’s breath brushed past my neck, tickling yet making me afraid to move. The atmosphere was ambiguous. Great Allah, I’m not having an affair – this shameless Cult Leader is harassing me! He dismissed everyone coldly, saying, “You may all leave.”

Now we were alone. The so-called magical powder on my body hasn’t dissipated yet. Even without it, I probably couldn’t defeat this leader. If he devours me completely, no one would know. In my life, for the first time, I pleaded, “Cult Leader…”

I hadn’t even finished my sentence when he turned my face towards him, tightly gripping my chin, forcing me to look directly into his bewitching eyes. His eyelashes were so long, his nose high, his lips rose-red. “Baby, don’t call me Cult Leader. I have a name too – Xiao Chen Yue. Call me Chen.”

I frowned. “T^T Fine, Chen.” I wanted to slap him; he was so utterly shameless! I have a husband; don’t you dare mess around!

To break the awkwardness, I asked, “Chen, do you have a wife?” I originally wanted to say that if he didn’t have one, I’d help him find one. Who knew he would blurt out: “Have. You.” Damn, I’m not your wife!
