Kong Lingqiu felt like he was in a dream, unconsciously turning to look at his simple office, seeing his computer through the door crack. Suppressing his excitement, he entered the office, closed the door, and pulled out his phone to dial a number.
Hehe, before Kong Lingqiu could finish his words, Hao Yunyang laughed and interrupted him, saying: “Today’s sales breaking 70 million doesn’t mean every day will be like this. The user base is fixed, and your low prices represent a decrease in future revenue. In the next twelve months, sales will continue to decline. Sitting idle is not the character of a Jiuxiao organization member. Stabilize the current customer base quickly, then develop other software and invest in them. Take it slow – you can’t become fat in one breath.”
“I understand,” Kong Lingqiu said. Hao Yunyang’s words were like a bucket of cold water poured directly on his head, completely extinguishing the pride that had just risen. He responded somewhat stammering, “I will work harder going forward.”
“Hehe, this is how a Jiuxiao organization member should act!” Hao Yunyang laughed. “At your current pace, earning over 100 million in the next week is absolutely no problem. After collecting all the money, you’ll need a professional manager to improve the company’s framework. Listen more to the manager’s advice in other areas – you’re the top expert in technical matters.”
Hao Yunyang stopped, but Kong Lingqiu understood. His mentality calmed down, but then he hesitantly asked: “That…”
“What?” The service area was now visible ahead. Hao Yunyang smiled, “Go ahead.”
“That…” Kong Lingqiu scratched his head, hesitating for several seconds before stammering: “Can I buy a car to drive?”
After asking the question, Kong Lingqiu quickly added, afraid Hao Yunyang might misunderstand: “I won’t buy an expensive one, just a normal car to drive. The organization won’t think I’m being arrogant, right?”
“No,” Hao Yunyang laughed, both amused and pleased, shaking his head to dispel Kong Lingqiu’s worries. He found it funny that Kong Lingqiu would ask permission to buy a car, but was happy that Kong Lingqiu now completely saw himself as a Jiuxiao organization member – whether out of admiration or fear, this was good for Hao Yunyang!
After ending the call with Kong Lingqiu, the car entered the service area. “Director Kong, who were you talking to?” Kong Lingqiu had just put down his phone, lost in thought. The half-closed office door was pushed open, and three young men in their twenties poked their heads in. One of them chuckled: “Reporting to buy a car? The organization is really strict!”
“Yeah, yeah,” another young man laughed. “Was that the boss’s wife on the phone? When will the boss’s wife come to the company to meet us?”
“You little brats, go do your work!” Kong Lingqiu broke into a cold sweat, secretly thinking he must lock the door when making calls in the future. But he put on a stern boss’s expression: “Want your salaries or not?!”
“Haha, the boss is angry, run!” The young men laughed and ran away. Kong Lingqiu sighed in relief, a smile appearing on his face as he left his office.
In early 2005, with his unique business vision and the social connections accumulated at the German-Chinese company, Jianxin Real Estate Company borrowed 100 million from banks and invested 80 million of its own funds to start developing properties. Between 2005 and 2007, they successively launched seven properties including Dingsheng, Wangchao, Hanmiao, and Longwei, all of which were hugely successful. Chen Siwei officially entered the billionaire ranks.
Just when people thought Chen Siwei would continue developing properties and making money, he made another surprising move by selling the booming Jianxin Real Estate Group and its four ongoing property developments to a Hong Kong businessman for 1.57 billion yuan. After extracting a large amount of cash, he once again organized personnel to establish a new materials research institute and began round-the-clock research.
However, as the saying goes, good things are hard to come by. Over three years, more than ten projects with an investment of 1.79 billion yuan once again hit a bottleneck with no output, and all research projects were simultaneously suspended. Chen Siwei’s desperate decision pushed him to the brink.
On April 14, 2010, Chen Siwei reinvested the 70 million yuan he had scraped together and his remaining 1.3 billion yuan, totaling 2 billion yuan, into research, prompting the suspended research projects to restart.
On July 9, 2011, one of the research projects involving waste construction material decomposition and reuse, after investing over 2 billion yuan, finally succeeded. However, Chen Siwei did not seek a partner to commercialize it, but instead transferred it to the state for 300 million yuan.
From July 9, 2011, those dozen research projects that had consumed almost all of Chen Siwei’s efforts began to progress rapidly. By September 23, 2014, all these projects had finally succeeded.
However, Chen Siwei once again surprised those following him. After all projects were successfully researched, he transferred these dozen projects to the state for just one yuan. He then disappeared with his wife and children, only returning to Taiyuan, Shanxi before the 2019 Spring Festival.
According to later reports, Chen Siwei did not voluntarily leave his homeland, but because the technologies he researched were world-class new technologies. To ensure Chen Siwei and the research results’ safety, the state invested significant human and material resources to relocate his entire family, keeping them safe for five years.
During these five years, the research results provided by Chen Siwei were optimized and improved by top national scientists but were only used for interstate negotiations, technology transfers, and military applications.
Although Chen Siwei transferred all his life’s work for just one yuan, the state awarded him a special outstanding contribution prize of 10 billion yuan. When he returned to Shanxi with his family, all the technologies he transferred were returned to him, marking the beginning of their civilian applications.
In early March 2020, Chen Siwei, now over fifty, founded Dinxin Construction Company again. This time, he returned to his old profession of demolition.
The new technologies were applied, and what other demolition companies saw as the biggest obstacle – construction waste – became a valuable resource in Chen Siwei’s hands. While other companies only extracted steel bars from buildings, Chen Siwei didn’t let go of a single brick!
When demolishing a thirty-story building of 700 square meters, his company would leave nothing behind: Rusty steel bars would be melted, purified using new technologies, producing strength and flexibility almost superior to new steel bars from other companies, with extended usage life.
Demolished concrete, sand, stones, and bricks would be broken down by a large machine into small pieces, then further separated by multiple machines. Sand and cement would be decomposed into substances that could replace new sand, while stone and cement would have broader applications, serving as road base filling or being ground into powder and re-fired into bricks.
After eighteen years, these dozen new technologies finally brought Chen Siwei returns beyond imagination. In just three years, with strong government support, Dinxin became China’s largest demolition company, leading the industry. While other companies’ demolitions inevitably pollute the environment, Dinxin not only avoids pollution but recycles all construction waste into more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly building materials, earning media praise as an “environmental giant”.
In 2029, with personal assets of 32.7 billion, he ranked third on the Asian wealth list and nineteenth on the global wealth list.
