God’s Code

“Please let me know the results when they come out. And could I see that skull?” I had anticipated this request, so I had brought the skull with me. I took a wooden box out of my bag and placed it on the table. Then I stood up and closed the door, which had been left slightly ajar. Such things could always be troublesome if seen by others.
Zhang Ming opened the wooden box, took out the skull, and placed it on the table. “Fesi people!” Zhang Ming exclaimed. “It really is a Fesi person. I had my suspicions when I saw those reliefs.” “So you know about them, what kind of life form are they?” I asked out of curiosity. “We only made contact with them over a hundred years ago. Fesi is 4,800 light-years away from us, between the solar system and the Weimo system, all three aligned in a straight line. Their civilization developed in a completely different direction from ours, more akin to those living in the deep oceans of your Earth…” At this point, Zhang Ming paused, seeming hesitant. “I call those friends from the deep sea ‘Sea People,’ although most humans are unaware of their existence.” “That makes it easier to talk about them. Otherwise, exposing them to humanity might not be a good idea,” I gave a wry smile and didn’t pursue the topic further. “The Fesi and the Sea People of Earth are of the same civilization type. Speaking of which, Earth is truly a miraculous place, nurturing two advanced life forms with entirely different paths of development. The history of the Fesi people is much older than ours. They explore and understand the universe through the power of the individual, having evolved to the point where their bodies are essentially energy-based, so they lack a fixed form. However, the head, the source of thought, cannot be replaced by pure energy. When their long lives come to an end, all that’s left is this small skull. This skull is quite different from human skulls; it looks similar but is extremely hard, directly proportional to the energy they controlled during their lifetime.”
