God’s Code

Wei Hou didn’t contact me that day or the next. He had given me his phone number the previous day, but I thought it best to wait for his message since we weren’t very familiar. The Pali script continued to haunt me. Over the next few days, I explored during the day and chatted with locals in various bars at night, sensing their unease. This text had magnified the shadow of the tsunami tenfold, weighing heavily on their hearts. More and more people were going to the beach to pray, believing that some past misdeed had brought divine punishment. Yet, they were unsure if this was the end or just the beginning, or what price they must pay to “see the world clearly,” as the divine message suggested. People steeped in civilization wouldn’t normally attribute everything to the supernatural so easily, but in the tsunami-affected areas, many who had experienced it firsthand had mental breakdowns; their psyches were now extremely fragile. The sudden appearance of this site and the script caused a significant stir among the disaster victims, something unimaginable to outsiders.

The Mahabalipuram Prophecy (7): Every place the tsunami passed through, without exception, had its beaches revert to their undeveloped state from decades ago, but modern civilization stubbornly planted its flags again in no time. If the divine message was about recognizing the anti-natural aspects of modern civilization, could this tsunami be just a prelude? What would happen next? Lying in the comfortable bed of the Quality Inn MGM Beach Resort, I boldly speculated on various possibilities based on my previous knowledge. Do gods exist, and what is the concept of a god? Although I was well aware of the limitations of modern science, I never believed in an omnipotent creator. If we assumed that this god was some being with a highly advanced civilization (though I found this idea rather boring, having never seen an alien despite my colorful experiences), it seemed more plausible that he could cause an explosion in the Earth’s crust to create a tsunami at a specific time rather than accurately predicting events from two millennia ago.
