Lone Hawk

Shan Shan ignored her, turning angrily to her book and mumbling: “I’m not imagining things. Just look at the campus forum’s homepage. Your names are surrounded by big red hearts. Everyone knows Wang Luozhou is the forum administrator. If it were just rumors, he would have deleted the post.”

Jing Xin wanted to defend herself, but Shan Shan was already angry, burying her head in her book and not intending to listen.

Jing Xin sighed, like a tree wanting peace but unable to escape the wind.

The boy came close, the corners of his mouth slightly raised, his eyes clear and bright.

Jing Xin saw a long string of English letters on his white T-shirt. Clad in a simple white T-shirt and blue jeans, he still exuded elegance. She recalled the saying, “Clothes make the man, a saddle makes a horse,” realizing that clothes need someone to bring them to life.

The boy placed a book in Jing Xin’s hand and tapped it, observing her dazed expression. “Jing Xin, you can’t just stare at your toes while walking. It’s dangerous.”

“Hm, how do you know my name?” she asked, surprised.

Could it be that a rumor had made her a public figure? Did everyone in school now know her?

The boy frowned slightly, seeming disappointed. “I’m Wang Luozhou.”

“How strange!” Jing Xin thought. It was surprising to see him, a dazzling boy from the civil engineering department, after she had just thought of him.

“Now you know me. Although this meeting is cliché, I’m satisfied. We’ll see each other often. I have something to do, so I’ll go first. Goodbye, Jing Xin.”

He brushed past her, and she missed the smile that lit up his face.

Wang Luozhou shook his head.

What a shy girl. Remembering her lowered eyelashes, her lips gently biting, her face completely red, made his heart flutter. This girl had stirred his heart, yet she claimed not to know him at all. Wasn’t that unfair? Wasn’t love supposed to be built on equality? At least let the other person know you, right?

Wang Luozhou decided he wanted to bring Jing Xin into his life and write their story together. He knew her personality was more interesting than it seemed and hoped to enter her heart to see her vast inner world.
