Lone Hawk

He exhaled a smoke ring and stared into the darkness outside, his eyes cold and isolated.

Jiang Xiangyang was uncertain about his future but knew he must fight and gamble to shape it. His current achievements were merely practice. This successful step gave him confidence for future brilliance. He faced two possible outcomes: complete failure or becoming a dominant force in the underworld.

With no background or power, he understood that extreme hardships would be required to succeed. His future would likely be filled with bloodshed and violence.

Whether he would live or die was uncertain. The fewer people who cared about his life and death, the better. Too many attachments would only shackle him. Jiang Xiangyang’s life fundamentally didn’t need women to embellish it.

He extinguished the cigarette in his hand, along with his thoughts.

A knock at the door sounded, and San Bao entered.

“Brother Jiang, the boss from Tianshui sent someone with a message. He wants to meet you tomorrow at 2 PM at Feilong Restaurant to discuss the recent gang fight. Tianshui wants us to hand over the people involved. Should I bring some men to take them out?”

Jiang Xiangyang’s eyebrows slightly raised as he let out a cold laugh. Wang, the boss of Tianshui, seemed to have become too arrogant, recently causing trouble on Jiang’s territory, including instigating a fight. Now he was playing the victim and demanding they hand over people. One day, he would make Wang beg for mercy.

A fierce light briefly flashed in Jiang Xiangyang’s eyes.

He waved his hand: “San Bao, I’ll take down Wang, but the timing isn’t right yet. He still has some use. Tell the brothers to be careful and not let themselves be used.”

San Bao acknowledged the order and left. Jiang Xiangyang picked up his coat from the chair. His mother’s health was worsening, and he needed to spend more time with her.

Jiang’s mother wanted to talk to Jing Xin to explore her thoughts, as time was limited. She selfishly hoped Jing Xin could care for Xiang Yang after her death.
