Wang Luozhou gripped Jing Xin’s hand tightly. She struggled slightly, but he showed no intention of letting go.
He pulled her in front of him, staring intensely into her eyes. Beneath her long eyelashes, her clear eyes reflected panic, not the reaction he had hoped for. He sighed and released her hand, but he was determined not to give up.
“Jing Xin, our opponents in this ball game are strong. I hope you’ll cheer for me. I saved a great seat for you, close to the front, so you can see me clearly. It was hard when you sat far away last time; my neck was sore from turning to see you.”
Was this calm narration a confession?
Jing Xin looked at him in disbelief. His eyes were sincere, conveying that he liked her.
But for Jing Xin, he was still a stranger. This was only their second meeting, yet he acted as if they were very familiar.
Shan Shan stood awkwardly beside them, having clearly heard Wang Luozhou’s words. Now Jing Xin could no longer deny anything.
Jing Xin looked helplessly at Shan Shan and lowered her eyes. It was impossible to explain her unclear relationship with Wang Luozhou.
The situation seemed complicated. Having such an excellent boy interested in her should have been exciting, but she only wanted to distance herself from him, lacking the typical reaction of a girl receiving a confession.
Wang Luozhou turned to Shan Shan with a smile, “You can accompany Jing Xin. I’ve reserved five seats in Row A, seats 106-110. Remember to bring some classmates along.”
He affectionately patted Jing Xin’s head, “Jing Xin, I’m going now. Don’t forget, seven o’clock tonight. I’ll be waiting for you.”
After he left, Jing Xin approached Shan Shan to explain, but Shan Shan seemed unbothered and linked arms with her as they walked to the library.
“Shan Shan, don’t mind. I really didn’t lie. I don’t know Wang Luozhou very well,” Jing Xin felt the need to clarify.
Shan Shan gently placed a finger on her lips, “Shh, Jing Xin, don’t explain. I believe you. But it’s not about whether I believe you or not. You don’t understand the situation.”
