The woman closed her eyes, letting out a derisive laugh. She murmured, “Jiang Xiangyang, you’re deceiving yourself.”

Turning away to hide her eyes, a tear slid down her face. Her heart’s answer was clear: he loved that woman!

Chapter Twenty-Eight: Wang Luozhou’s Pain

School life was calmer than Jing Xin had anticipated. She originally thought that after Wang Luozhou’s confession, her life would be filled with troubles, but the reality was different. No one seemed to cause her problems; instead, everyone approved of their relationship.

This approval was likely due to Wang Luozhou’s charm and popularity.

She deliberately avoided him. Whenever she glimpsed him in the library, she turned and walked away. She had no special feelings for him, particularly after her experiences with Jiang Yangyang—her heart had long been given to that man.

After school one day, Wang Luozhou caught up with her at the school gate, slightly out of breath: “Jing Xin, what’s wrong? Why have you been avoiding me?”

His gaze was intense.

“Oh, no, I’ve been preparing for exams and have been quite busy,” she replied, trying to walk around him.

Wang Luozhou suddenly pulled Jing Xin into his embrace. “Jing Xin, did I do something to make you dislike me? Tell me, okay? Don’t be so cold to me.”

This young man, frustrated by her distance, loved her deeply but felt increasingly mad as she continually avoided him. While many girls adored him, she treated him like a plague. Wang Luozhou knew she had no boyfriend at school and usually spent time alone.

He couldn’t understand her behavior and thought that even if she didn’t like him now, he could wait—enough time to make her fall in love with him. He just couldn’t bear her coldness.

His eyes reflected deep pain; he was no longer the proud Wang Luozhou but a man waiting for the love of the woman he cherished.

His forehead rested against hers. “What do you want me to do?”

His voice carried sorrow and desolation, evoking compassion in Jing Xin, who never intended to hurt anyone. Curious passersby stared at them.

Jing Xin struggled slightly, but Wang Luozhou’s iron arms only held her tighter.

“Wang Luozhou, I’m sorry. I don’t have any feelings for you,” she said, trying not to hurt him.
