Lost Youth – When Love Lies

“Her reputation at Xuyang University was widespread; even those not in her class knew her name.

“Hello,” Xia Yuluo could only greet them awkwardly. She knew Fang Yuzhe had recognized her, but he still maintained his usual indifferent expression, showing no sign of surprise.

“Xia Yuluo, is this your family’s restaurant?” Seeing her carrying trays, everyone naturally assumed so.

“No, I’m working here.”

“Working?”

Fang Yuzhe tapped his knuckles on the table, “Why ask so much? Can’t you see she’s busy?”

Yuluo’s delay caused other customers to become impatient, “Waitress, when are you going to serve the food!”

“Boss, your girl stops moving when she sees a handsome guy. Don’t we have to pay?”

“Sorry, please sit. I’ll go work,” Xia Yuluo embarrassedly placed the menu on the table, “Order what you want. It’s on me.”

Fang Yuzhe finally couldn’t help but curl his mouth slightly but quickly lowered his head, probably not wanting Yuluo to see him smile.

“You’re treating? Then we’ll order a lot!” A male student picked up the menu dramatically.

The boss’s wife, seeing Yuluo was overwhelmed, came to help with the order, “What would you gentlemen like?”

“Order the most expensive items since someone’s treating!”

“How about steamed carp, braised pig’s trotters, seafood mixed soup, and our signature salt-baked lamb chops?”

The male student finished ordering and turned to Fang Yuzhe: “Boss, is this okay?”

Fang Yuzhe impatiently found him troublesome, “Whatever.”

Yuluo said she would treat her classmates, and those guys ordered without restraint, spending over 300 yuan in one meal, which stunned her. But since she’d already said it, she couldn’t take it back. Yuluo quietly told the boss, “Deduct their meal cost from my salary.”

“What are you doing, spending your hard-earned money like this? Your wages aren’t even enough for their meal,” the boss said. She was reluctant too, but it didn’t matter. She originally wanted to give Fang Yuzhe a gift, though she didn’t achieve the effect of giving a gift.

The rain outside stopped, and the restaurant’s customers gradually left. Fang Yuzhe’s group was about to pay their bill, with most of the food untouched.

“You don’t need to pay. Xia Yuluo is treating,” the boss said, not intending to charge them.
