Love’s Fizzy Complications

From childhood, he was never one to meddle in others’ affairs. Why was he particularly concerned about this girl?

Perhaps because she might become his future sister-in-law? His elder brother, burdened with company responsibilities, lonely for years and always worried, would be much happier with a loved one by his side.

He felt his brother truly loved her, otherwise why would he never forget to order a crystal rose for her every year? Their separation might be due to his brother’s taciturn nature.

If a language barrier could separate two lovers, it would be a pity. As a younger brother, he should help clear the way for his brother.

“Do I look pretty today?” Outside the hotel, Qiu Yuting tugged at her dress, asking without much confidence.

“Don’t be nervous, you’re beautiful even without dressing up,” Pei Jiale looked at her and removed her necklace, “Just wear earrings and a bracelet. Too many accessories look unnecessary.”

“Oh, right. Jiade always hated girls who dressed too flashily,” she stuck out her tongue, “I was afraid I wasn’t pretty enough and wanted to wear all my jewelry, but ended up overdoing it.”

“Here, take this,” he handed her an exquisite box.

“What’s inside?”

“Something useful for you, but don’t open it unless absolutely necessary,” Pei Jiale smiled.

“So mysterious? Thank you then,” Qiu Yuting happily accepted it.

“The wedding is about to start, go in quickly,” he said.

Aren’t you going in?” she asked curiously, seeing him sitting motionless in the car.

“I have other matters to attend to, so I won’t accompany you,” he shrugged. “Besides, you’re going to catch up with your lover, and you wouldn’t want me getting in the way, right?”

“But…” she suddenly became afraid, “I’m alone…”

“Miss, stop babbling!” he feigned anger. “Get out quickly and don’t delay my important business!”

Qiu Yuting pouted and had no choice but to lift her dress and step out of the car pitifully, venturing out alone.

Looking at her back, Pei Jiale suddenly felt reluctant, as if he was personally handing over his beloved woman to another man, with a tragic and heroic emotion.
