Love’s Fizzy Complications

“For people like us who can’t get married, there’s nowhere else to go but home,” he muttered.

“Hey, don’t take out your heartbreak on your big brother,” Pei Jiade smiled, “There’s really nothing between me and Yu Ting.”

“Why didn’t you say this earlier? Why did you help her deceive me that day? Why did you have the newspaper publish such news?”

When the private detective he hired reported that the source of the newspaper rumors was Qiu Yuting and his most respected older brother, he almost vomited blood.

“For Bai Chun. If I didn’t agree to Yu Ting’s request, she wouldn’t meet Bai Chun.”

“Hmph, big brother, you’re truly disregarding family for a woman!”

“Likewise,” Pei Jiade pointed to his bruised face, “For a woman, you almost disfigured your own brother.”

Pei Jiale turned away, avoiding looking at his “masterpiece”.

“Hey, you’ve been angry enough, fought enough. Go back to the company tomorrow,” Pei Jiade sat down beside him, “The old guard has agreed to keep your position.”

“I was thinking of resigning.”

“Why?” Pei Jiade was slightly surprised. “Want to venture out on your own?”

“Tianxing is a tree that no longer needs watering, with you watching over it,” Pei Jiale sighed, “I’m not going out to achieve great things, just want to find something that can work me to death, to stop me from overthinking every day.”

“So, you’re really planning to forget Yu Ting?”

He smiled faintly, not answering, just saying, “Brother, if you’re willing, can you transfer a small company to my name?”

“Which one?”

“Green Ming Advertising.”

“Green Ming?” Pei Jiade was first surprised, then understood. Specifically choosing Green Ming, probably because it has a famous model.

He didn’t need to worry about this cunning brother, because this brother had more persistence than anyone in the world.

Had he moved away?

No light leaked from his doorway anymore, no noisy music came from his room. Though she had paid a year’s rent, Qiu Yuting felt he had completely disappeared from her life, and he hadn’t even called her.

Was this an unspoken breakup?

Thinking of this, her heart felt like a piece had been carved out, her body immersed in enormous pain, feeling light and breathless. But this was all her choice, she couldn’t blame anyone.
