One was Guan Longji’s special administrative assistant, whom Shuijing only remembered was surnamed Tang. The other was her secretary, Lin Ziwei.
“Miss Fang,” her secretary Lin Ziwei hurriedly greeted, “The CEO is not feeling well. The doctor diagnosed him with influenza.”
“It’s nothing,” Guan Longji said softly: “Sorry for coming back late.”
“Let’s eat!” Shuijing ignored him, turning to Zhang Yumei, “Tell the kitchen to prepare two more dinner portions. Assistant Tang and Secretary Lin, please stay for a casual meal.”
“Thank you, madam,” Assistant Tang said.
Shuijing pursed her lips without speaking. Unlike Lin Ziwei calling her “Miss Fang”, Assistant Tang, as Guan Longji’s confidant, certainly knew they were currently separated, yet still addressed her as “madam”.
If Lin Ziwei was the queen’s messenger, then Tang was the king’s messenger, each serving their master.
Yes! This is the medicine prescribed by the doctor.” Tang’s assistant said eagerly: “Please take care of the CEO.”
Shuijing was not fooled, and said loudly: “Xiao Mei, hand over those medicines.” She turned her head, “You’ve worked hard. I’ll have the driver send you back!”
“Those medicines…” Tang’s assistant was unwilling to give up.
“Xiao Mei has a nursing qualification and a nanny license, so you can rest assured,” Shuijing said coldly. “She can read the instructions.”
Shuijing, who went to bed early, did not sleep well. After a short nap, it was already one in the morning.
Guan Longji, her nominal husband, was just a wall away and the “root of all evil” that kept her from sleeping.
Shuijing got up, drank a bottle of mineral water, first went to check on her daughter who was sleeping soundly, and then reluctantly walked into the guest room.
Zhang Yumei, who was drowsy, reported to her, “Sir just had a fever again and just took some fever medicine.”
“Hmm…” Shuijing paused, “Xiao Mei, you’ve worked hard. Go to sleep. I’ll watch over him.”
“Really! That’s great, I’ll go to sleep!” Zhang Yumei immediately left as if afraid Shuijing would change her mind.
Shuijing found it both amusing and frustrating.
“It’s strange. Are you paying higher wages than others?” she asked softly. “Everyone speaks for you. It seems Xiao Mei can’t wait for me to take care of you and mend our broken relationship…”
