One Wife, Multiple Husbands – Part Two

Moki hesitated and looked at her master. Ye Hui spoke softly: “Go out and do as Young Master Li says.”

Li Weichen watched Moki leave and said discontentedly: “My wife, in front of outsiders, you should call me ‘Brother-in-law’, just as you call Young Master Qin.”

“Calling something is just a symbol. Why be so persistent?”

“How can they be the same?”

“Fine, as you wish.” Ye Hui felt exhausted, with no appetite. She was about to sleep when Li Weichen picked her up to feed her. She ate only half before lying in his arms and falling asleep.

Li Weichen carefully applied ointment to her bruised areas, holding her gently in his arms, constantly staring at her, reluctant to close his eyes, afraid that she would disappear if he did.

Until dawn was approaching, he finally succumbed to fatigue and fell asleep.

The next day, when the sun was high, Ye Hui was still sleeping. She was awakened by someone tapping her shoulder. Opening her eyes slightly, she saw the man sitting at the bedside and said with infinite tenderness: “Hey, husband, remember to stay by my side when Li Weichen is present.”

Qin Yuhang frowned, pulling back the brocade quilt, revealing the still-visible fading bruises.

“How did this happen?”

“Li Weichen is definitely qualified as a male companion. I was well taken care of,” Ye Hui laughed, sitting up and embracing his neck: “I’m hungry. Have someone bring me some food.”

“Even so, I won’t let him off easy.” He helped her dress, and Ye Hui got up from the bed, having A-Jin bring water for her to wash.

“Young Master Li was just sent away and is probably practicing in the courtyard,” Qin Yuhang said while combing her hair with an ivory comb: “You said yesterday that you planned to set off early. I had everything prepared this morning, but I was waiting for you to wake up.”

Ye Hui had forgotten about this: “Since everything is ready, we’ll set off later. Since entering the Central Plains region, there are many states and counties. We might encounter a village or town by evening. Even if we don’t, it’s so hot that camping at night would be the same.”

Ye Hui dressed and had breakfast with Qin Yuhang.

The weather outside was clear, and the imperial guards were already lined up and ready.
