Peach Blossom Calamity

“Of course, I was young once too, back in the day…” Aunt Wen began to ramble about past romantic stories, and Xia Bing listened, occasionally laughing at certain parts.

After Aunt Wen had talked for a while, she came to her senses, “You’ve distracted me again. I was originally going to have you bring Hai Jun back, but I think I’ll postpone it for a few more days… A good thing, and I’ve delayed it.”

Xia Bing said it was fine to just push it back a few days, and she could reschedule.

“When I have a break, I’ll first go buy some towels and a basin, get some necessities.” Seeing Aunt Wen looking a bit tired, Xia Bing told her to rest well.

“You can buy things when you come tomorrow. Go back home today. I know you don’t like hospitals, just come tomorrow.” Xia Bing’s parents had died in a traffic accident, and Aunt Wen knew how this child felt about hospitals… Now she was busy taking care of everything.

“I’m not a bother,” Xia Bing’s eyes suddenly turned sour thinking of Aunt Wen’s thoughtfulness.

“Be good, come tomorrow, or I’ll go home early and stop you from running around,” Aunt Wen threatened weakly. Xia Bing finally compromised, nodding and saying she’d find a nurse if anything was wrong and would call her.

Xia Bing left the hospital with heavy steps.

“Xia Bing.”

Just as she stepped out of the hospital gate, she heard someone call her name. A figure approached – it was him, Chen Hai Jun.

“What a coincidence, what are you doing here?” She wondered if something was wrong with his health, looking at him curiously.

“Not a coincidence, I specifically waited for you. Let’s get in the car.” Seeing a car approaching, Chen Hai Jun pulled Xia Bing to the side and walked to his own car.

Xia Bing’s gaze fell on their joined hands. Hai Jun’s hand was warm, just like him, and she let him lead her.

“How did you know I was here?” Xia Bing asked, curious about his deliberate wait.

“Secret,” he smiled.

“It couldn’t be Aunt Wen…” Xia Bing thought, shaking her head helplessly.

The car turned out, and Hai Jun asked, “Have you eaten dinner?”
