Peach Blossom Calamity

The old man raised an eyebrow, “Such women are fine for playing around. If you want her, you can keep her. But your wife must be a wealthy young lady from a good family to help your career.”

Xia Hou Zun listened, his face still calm, but his hand unconsciously clenched. Back then, he probably approached his mother with a casual attitude? If the Xia Hou family hadn’t lacked a son, and his mother hadn’t happened to have a son, how despicable the Xia Hou family was.

Xia Hou Yu mentioned another matter, “What about that model? About the child… have it verified, and if it’s true, bring it back.”

Xia Hou Zun didn’t respond. He wanted to laugh – he didn’t even know who that model was or how he could have a child with her. The man before him was still cold – if the child was his, just bring it back… This was Xia Hou Yu, the man who gave him life, his legal father.

Xia Hou Yu called over a young woman.

The woman smiled at Xia Hou Zun.

Xia Hou Yu introduced, “Susan, this is my son Xia Hou Zun. You two young people chat.” He gave Xia Hou Zun a meaningful look and walked away.

Susan examined Xia Hou Zun, noting his hard facial features that suggested someone unwilling to be manipulated.

“Xia Hou Zun, I hope I haven’t disgusted you too much?” Susan teased, noticing his frown.

Wallflower

Xia Hou Zun didn’t pay special attention to Susan because of Xia Hou Yu’s words.

Susan looked to the side, “That cute girl has been watching you.”

Xia Hou Zun turned to see Xia Bing looking at him, who immediately lowered her head when caught.

“I’m not interested in you,” Xia Hou Zun slowly walked past Susan.

Susan laughed, “I’m not interested in you either. But you don’t need to be so cold – that easily provokes someone’s desire to conquer.” She laughed openly, not wanting to seem intimidating.

Xia Hou Zun stopped, “I believe men don’t like feeling conquered. When I say I’m not interested, it won’t change.”

“A very confident man. I like that. I think we could collaborate,” Susan playfully winked.

After some conversation, they parted on less tense terms.
