“You also know that he is the kind of man women most want to hug and kiss, and he’s a womanizer. I’ve caught him with his girlfriend many times. Why would I like him?” She thought to herself, and suddenly a vague, uncertain piece of information flashed through her mind. Xia Bing suddenly felt the atmosphere between them had become ambiguous, and she wondered why she was explaining anything to him, blaming herself.
Xia Hou hmmed in response, accepting her explanation.
“You don’t take care of yourself. When you catch a cold, you don’t bother, but you’ve made me go through a lot of trouble.” Xia Bing felt uncomfortable under Xia Hou Zun’s gaze. She turned away, adjusted his blanket, and went back to the computer.
“My father wants me to marry a woman I don’t know, just for the sake of his company.” Xia Hou Zun spoke with a dim look in his eyes.
Xia Bing didn’t turn around. “Rich people are strange. Even with money, they still look to money. If you don’t want to, just don’t get married. Are you sad because of this? Didn’t we say not to be too hard on yourself?”
Demotion and Marriage Alliance
Xia Hou Zun had long since seen through family relationships, but he never expected that after working hard for the company, his father would threaten to remove him from his position if he didn’t agree to the marriage alliance.
“I just feel a bit pathetic. If I don’t go through with this marriage, my dad will demote me.”
Xia Bing turned around. “If you’re not the CEO, can he demote you? Let him demote you if he wants. Don’t always work so hard. There are other things in the world to do. Aren’t you tired from pushing yourself so much?”
