“After work, only my mother would ask if I’m tired. I worked hard to get to the CEO position. I’ve been working for the Xia Hou company since high school summer break, while others were busy with other things during college. I was already working for the Xia Hou family…” Xia Hou Zun talked about his youth, how others were doing different things while he was focused entirely on work. Now, just because he didn’t obey Xia Hou Yu’s orders, everything he worked hard for would be taken away. He was unwilling to accept this.
Xia Bing listened quietly. She had thought rich young masters spent their days partying and living lavishly, but Xia Hou Zun had actually sacrificed so much for all this.
After Xia Hou Zun finished speaking, Xia Bing shook her head. “You’re more ascetic than a monk, making yourself sick. If you’re not happy, no amount of money can fill that void. You should do something that makes you happy during your holidays…”
“At the company.”
“Xia Hou Zun, you’re so boring. Being your assistant must be terrible. Three hundred and sixty-five days a year, basically just going to the company – the company might as well be your home,” Xia Bing sighed disapprovingly.
“Pitiful?”
“Yes, if you have to work, your assistant has to go with you. If his girlfriend leaves him, that would be your fault.” Xia Bing thought about Xia Hou Zun’s cold assistant, wondering if he even had a girlfriend, given how cold he was, though slightly less intimidating than Xia Hou Zun.
Xia Hou Zun thought for a moment and made a phone call.
Xia Bing heard his question and couldn’t help but want to roll her eyes. Not even knowing if his assistant had a girlfriend – what kind of boss was he?
“He says he doesn’t,” Xia Hou Zun said after hanging up.
“I’m truly amazed by you two – a boss and subordinate should know a lot about each other. At best, they should know each other’s secrets…”
