The security guard hesitated but then handed over his phone. Ru Feng dialed without paying attention to the crowd. “Hello, Miss Gao? I’m from Keko Cake House, currently downstairs. Could you come down to collect the cakes?”
A tall woman soon emerged from the elevator, her hurried steps slowing as she approached, surprised by the crowd. “CEO!” She nodded to Qiu Chi, then turned to Ru Feng, “I’ll take them, thank you!”
Ru Feng pulled out the delivery note. “Please sign here.” After the signature, she neatly put the document back in her bag and walked away, not once looking at the man beside her.
Qiu Chi smiled with interest and whispered to his secretary, “Go see what she’s up to now.” The secretary laughed, thinking about the tricks women use to get close to men.
Qiu Chi followed her out. After a few steps, Ru Feng stopped and looked at him. Qiu Chi coldly remarked, “I told you I don’t like cake.” Ru Feng replied, “That’s great!”
Ru Feng laughed, “I never intended to ask you to eat it! I’m telling you to go die!” She swiftly smashed the cake in Qiu Chi’s face.
“Just because I offered you a piece of cake doesn’t mean I’m inviting you to eat it,” she said, taking a breath. “Stay away from me!”
Ignoring Qiu Chi’s ashen face, she shook her hand and walked away happily. She had already gotten off work, the cake was bought herself, so it wasn’t dereliction of duty. The incident occurred outside the store, so it wasn’t bad customer service. She nodded smugly.
“Mr. Qiu!” the terrified Li Secretary quickly scrambled out of the car and handed over a tissue.
“Li Qin, go investigate what madness she’s up to!” Qiu Chi almost roared.
A Brief Encounter
The setting sun was sinking, and the dusk thickened. The faint wisps of cooking smoke reminded her of real life. Ru Feng walked lightly in a small alley.
“Xiao Feng, you’re back?” Qiu Mom had been waiting at the door and came forward at the sight of her.
“Mm! I bought some cold dishes for dinner,” Ru Feng said, raising the bag in her hand.
Qiu Mom hesitated, “Where did you get the money?”
