Reborn as the Wind

Autumn Yi coughed awkwardly, “You, are you that Ru Feng?”

Ru Feng blinked and replied, “Yes, that Ru Feng.”

The two exchanged smiles, feeling as if they had met after a long separation.

Autumn Yi said, “Let me tell you, that guy Autumn Pool is no good, hopelessly narcissistic and fickle. So, dumping him is absolutely right.”

“Finally, something sensible!” a voice from behind interjected.

Autumn Yi turned around sheepishly, raising her hand, “General Manager.”

Ru Feng jumped over, hugging his arm, “Big Brother!”

Ying Feng’s smile transformed into one of fondness. Autumn Yi rolled her eyes, thinking he was too nice just because she was his brother’s fiancée. Would he be so gentle to his future lover? She felt her face turn slightly red.

Ying Feng remained unaware of Autumn Yi’s thoughts.

He surveyed the cake shop and looked thoughtfully at Ru Feng, “I heard this is yours?”

Ru Feng nodded proudly, “Big Brother, I can do this, right?”

Ying Feng smiled meaningfully and glanced at Autumn Yi, “What are you still doing here?”

“Me?” Autumn Yi pointed at herself, and after receiving an affirming look, mumbled, “Buying a cake.”

Ying Feng nodded, “Which one do you want?”

Autumn Yi casually pointed, “That yellow one.”

Ying Feng looked at Ru Feng, who immediately ran to the counter, took out the cake, and handed it to Autumn Yi.

Ying Feng smiled, “Miss Autumn, since you’ve bought the cake, you can leave now.”

As Autumn Yi walked out, she glared back, thinking, That despicable man, is the cake shop his home?

The image of Si Tu Ying Feng smiling warmly at Ru Feng appeared in her mind, making her face burn again. So that man could also smile so tenderly!

Once Autumn Yi left, Si Tu Ying Feng’s smile disappeared completely. He pushed Ru Feng away and sat silently on a nearby high stool.

Ru Feng was stunned, “Big Brother, what’s wrong?”

Si Tu Ying Feng coldly looked at her, “Do you treat me like your big brother?”

“Big Brother, what are you talking about?”

Si Tu Ying Feng snorted, stood up, brushed off his clothes, and walked out silently.

Huh? Just like that? Ru Feng stood there, unable to react.

By the time she chased out, she could only see Ying Feng’s car tail.

“Dad!” She sought help, “Are my brothers angry that I didn’t tell them about moving and opening a shop?”

Si Tu Jin laughed on the phone, “So our precious daughter isn’t stupid after all!”

“Dad!” She stomped her foot. Her father was joking when she was anxious.

“Figure out how to apologize yourself!” Si Tu Jin hung up, feeling a bit angry about being kept out.

Even dad was angry! Ru Feng knew things were getting bad. Her shoulders drooped; the cake shop was sudden, and she hadn’t had time to tell them!

How to please dad and her brothers? Ru Feng resolved to win them over. She was also worried about her second brother.

Ru Feng raised her spirit, actively engaging in battle, the two of them going back and forth intensely.

Amidst the fierce battle, Situ Jin suddenly looked up and saw the thin sweat on Ru Feng’s forehead. He paused, then spoke, “Do you like your second brother?”

“I do!” Ru Feng, focused on her chess moves, gave the most direct answer.

“If a man like your second brother appeared in front of you, would you accept him?” Situ Jin’s mouth curved slightly.

“Of course, I’d snatch him and occupy him,” Ru Feng replied, her eyes brightening as she quickly placed a chess piece. “Haha, Dad, you have no way out now.”

She stood up happily. “Dad, I won, so you won’t be angry.”

Situ Jin was in a great mood. “Of course I’m not angry,” he said, feeling extremely happy.

Ru Feng made a victory gesture. “I defeated Dad; I’m going to see my second brother now.”

Situ Jin continued to smile as she rushed out, then turned his gaze back to the chessboard and froze, slightly surprised.

Looking at Ru Feng’s chess layout, he stood up and pulled out a yellowed book from the highest shelf, quickly comparing it with the chessboard.

After a long time, he closed the book, rubbing his forehead and thinking, “What kind of person teaches military strategy to their sister as a chess manual?”

Meanwhile, in the flower room, Qi Feng was washing and drying rouge grass. The white light illuminated his profile, outlining a soft halo around his perfect features.

“Second brother!” Ru Feng’s voice was soft, afraid of disturbing him.

Qi Feng looked up, his smile blossoming at the sight of her, filled with irresistible charm.

Ru Feng blinked and moved closer. “Second brother, what are you doing?”

“You always said you wanted to grow rouge grass, so I grew it. Now I want to try making rouge.”

“You know how to make rouge?” Ru Feng was stunned.

Qi Feng continued carefully washing, “I’ll try.”

“Second brother, are you a monster?” Ru Feng suddenly spoke, causing Qi Feng’s hand to stop.

Ru Feng then cupped his face, looking admiring. “Who’s ordinary enough to know everything like you?”

Qi Feng’s heart slowly relaxed. “Silly girl!”

“Honestly, is there anything in this world you don’t know?” she continued. “Perfection is the most annoying, like not letting others live.”

Qi Feng ignored her, letting her lament. There were many things he didn’t understand, but he cared about only one: why couldn’t he be the lover she hoped for?

He would always seek answers to what he didn’t understand, but this one, perhaps he would never resolve, as he couldn’t bear to ask the one who could answer.

“Don’t just sit there, write down the method of cultivating rouge grass,” he said.

Ru Feng found paper and pen. “You speak, I’ll write. By the way, this rouge grass takes a year to grow. Are you really patient enough to check every day?”

“Hmm!” Qi Feng responded softly. He came to see the rouge grass every time he thought of her.

Dinner, which should have been a harmonious family moment, was interrupted when Ying Feng’s face changed after a phone call. “Sui Feng is in critical condition at the hospital. I’m going right now.”

Situ Jin put down his bowl and quickly stood up. “Wait, I’ll go with you.”

What was that child doing, getting into trouble right after getting married?

Only Qi Feng remained calm, patting Ru Feng’s tense body. “Don’t worry, that’s an outsider.”

Ru Feng sat for a long time before looking at him, almost crying. “Brother?”

Qi Feng adjusted his posture slightly. Sui Feng’s wife dying would be best, but seeing Ru Feng’s expression, he could only reluctantly comfort her. “It’s okay, Dad and big brother have gone.”

Ru Feng’s fingertips were icy cold, remembering what Ning Yuan had said recently, her heart full of panic.

“Second brother, shall we go to the hospital?”

Qi Feng shook his head. “I’m not going, and I won’t let you go. Besides, I don’t think that woman wants to see you.”

Ru Feng had already taken his hand. “Sister Sui Feng won’t know it’s me. Let’s go see, okay?”

Qi Feng couldn’t refuse her and followed with a gloomy face.

In the hospital, the familiar white color and the cold medicinal smell haunted her dreams.

For half of her life as Situ Ru Feng, she had spent time in hospitals. She pretended to be strong and happy, but her fear of death and pain never faded. If possible, she would avoid such places.

Now, she was here.

From a distance, she saw her father pacing anxiously by the door. Her big brother was aggressively confronting Ning Yuan, shouting, “If anything happens to Sui Feng, you’ll accompany her in death!” After releasing him, Ning Yuan crouched down while his mother rushed over, crying, “Yuan, are you okay?” Ning Yuan remained silent.

Situ Jin looked over, closing his eyes slightly. Qi Feng held Ru Feng’s trembling body and called Situ Jin.

“Hello!” Situ Jin answered, sounding tired.

“Is she dead?”
