Situ Nian didn’t understand why his mother believed he would wake up due to pain, heat, or discomfort. His health was impeccable, rarely catching colds. The last time was when his father threw him into a cold pool to build immunity.
Ru Feng sighed and hugged him tightly, saying, “No pain is good, Nian’er, be good and sleep.” Situ Nian snuggled into her embrace, feeling warm and cozy, but with a condition.
The door opened silently as a man entered, grabbing Nian and tossing him aside before picking up Ru Feng. “I’ve told you, he’s fine. You’re my wife, not his.”
“I’m his mother!” Ru Feng replied, nervously checking on Situ Nian. “Nian’er is only five; what if you hurt him?”
“Don’t worry, he’s tough!”
Situ Nian sighed in darkness, thinking he loved his mother’s embrace, as long as after his father stole it, he wouldn’t try to reclaim it.
The next day, during his martial arts practice, the intensity increased significantly.
“Dad, am I really your biological son?” he asked while dodging.
“Dare to let someone else be your dad?”
A chilling wind surged and Situ Nian closed his eyes, fearing for his safety.
“Situ Qi Feng, if you dare hit my son, I’ll fight you!” Ru Feng exclaimed upon witnessing her son being bullied.
Both men were stunned. Qi Feng was caught off guard, while Situ Nian was immediately pulled over and hugged tightly. “Come, son, let’s watch TV,” Ru Feng said soothingly.
After a moment, Qi Feng rubbed his head and entered the room. “What did you just say? You’ll fight me?”
Ru Feng shot him a glare. “Dare to hit my son again and see what happens!”
Qi Feng walked away but returned shortly, “Now I know, in your heart, I’m not even a tenth of your precious son. You hit me so hard, my head is still buzzing.”
Ru Feng continued to embrace Situ Nian, “We’ll ignore him.”
Situ Nian looked at Qi Feng with sympathy for his dad.
Eventually, Ru Feng set Situ Nian down and noticed Qi Feng sitting on the other side of the sofa, looking dejected. She pondered for a moment, then poured him a glass of water. “Second brother, does it really hurt?”
