Reborn as the Wind

“No buts,” he interrupted, handing her a loan note. “All expenses are listed, with interest calculated quarterly. You can repay me slowly. There’s collateral – your status as Situ Qi Feng’s fiancée. If you can’t repay me, that status will be canceled.”

He smiled, “Can you accept this?”

Ru Feng looked at him, and after a long moment, smiled back. “Qiu Chi, you’re really a good man.”

Her expression became increasingly solemn.

Her second brother had taught her that the rise and fall of any stock must represent the involvement of a force behind it, especially for a company like Qiu’s that was developing normally. She wondered if there could be an influx of capital specifically aimed at suppressing Qiu’s stock.

Ru Feng was busy, while Qi Feng sat in his office, staring at the traffic below. She hadn’t received a call from Feng’er, and when she called home, her father confirmed that Feng’er hadn’t returned.

The space was filled with memories of her, which intensified his longing. Yet, he recognized her freedom. After her rebirth, she had a healthy body and a world of possibilities, no longer limited to him. She could laugh and run freely, going wherever she wanted.

He felt a mix of happiness and loss. Feng’er had always yearned for an independent life, but he wondered if she would gradually drift further away from him. He closed his eyes, a satisfied smile on his face, realizing that as long as she was happy, that was enough.

A long time later, Ru Feng took out his phone. The screen was dark, and with a press of his finger, the time appeared – it was already ten o’clock, time to go home.

Ru Feng looked at the changing curves on the computer, somewhat disbelieving, then reached out to turn off the power.

“What’s wrong?” Li Qin, having received the message, quickly ran over.

“Where is Qiu Chi?” Ru Feng asked, forcing a smile.

Li Qin gave Wang Yu a look, then responded, “President Qiu is in the office. Miss Qiu, please come with me.”

“What’s the matter?” Qiu Chi raised his head from a pile of documents, slightly stunned by Ru Feng’s expression.
