At exactly eight o’clock, they finally left the room, sitting on the sofa in the small living room, waiting for Lu Jinghao and the tutor to arrive. Two minutes past eight, Lu Jinghao returned, alone. He removed his coat, sat opposite them, his gaze burning into Lu Tuo. “Tuo, you’re doing well. But it’s too early to laugh. You’re young, you don’t understand anything.” Lu Tuo didn’t speak, sipping his black tea, looking at the clock on the wall. “It’s now ten past eight, Dad. After another ten minutes, he smashed his phone onto the ground in anger. “Lu Tuo! What have you done?!” He jumped up from the sofa, veins bulging on his forehead. Lu Tuo shrugged, casually playing with the lace on Dong Qin’s clothes. “What could I do? I’m just a junior. Maybe the teacher ran into an acquaintance on the way and was invited for tea today? Or perhaps he had an accident and is in critical condition? Who knows, life is so unpredictable.” Lu Jinghao’s face turned a mix of green and white, biting his lip, he turned and left. “You’ll regret this!”
Suddenly, the doorbell rang, and all three changed their expressions. Xiao Ai went to open the door, her demeanor unchanged. After a moment, a soft voice laughed from downstairs, “Sorry, I’m late. I ran into some trouble on the way.” Upon hearing this voice, all three faces changed even more drastically. Lu Jinghao was shocked and puzzled, Lu Tuo’s face darkened, a terrifying gloom in his eyes. Dong Qin started to think hard, where had she heard this familiar voice before?
“You really have a big face!” Lu Tuo suddenly sneered, propping his feet on the coffee table. “You actually managed to get him here! How did the old men upstairs agree to let him go? What did you offer?” Lu Jinghao didn’t answer; he was also in a state of extreme shock, only staring blankly as the man slowly ascended the stairs. Dong Qin first saw a head of long, jet-black hair, her heart stirred, and she instinctively looked down into a pair of eyes as deep blue as the night sky. Her lips moved slightly; it was him. So, he was also part of the organization. The man smiled gently at Dong Qin, then turned to look at Lu Tuo. “Hey, Lu kid, long time no see, looking good.” Lu Tuo snorted, standing up from the sofa, and the two men shook hands. “How did a fox like you get here?” he whispered, embracing and patting each other’s back. The man laughed, “How could I miss such an interesting event? Oh, Mr. Lu Jinghao…” He turned to shake Lu Jinghao’s hand, “Mr. Laurence asked me to convey that he welcomes your visit at any time, hoping you’ll come soon, old friends should meet.” Lu Jinghao stared at him for a long time before saying, “Cui Yun, where’s Magrina? Why are you here? My request for a tutor has nothing to do with Mr. Laurence, right?” Lu Tuo slapped his forehead, knowing this old man would invite Magrina, that crazy woman! She was a standard lesbian, and she liked to play with torture. Cui Yun smiled and said, “Magrina had an urgent task, and I just got a long vacation, so I came here for a tour. Hearing Mr. Lu wanted to find a tutor for Lu Tuo, I volunteered. Hope I’m not causing any trouble?” Lu Jinghao’s lips moved, but being a businessman, his face quickly softened. “Then, please take good care of my son and daughter, Cui Yun.” He turned to instruct, “Xiao Ai, make some coffee, no sugar or cream.” Cui Yun sat on the opposite sofa, suddenly looking at Dong Qin. She turned her face away, while Lu Tuo tightly held her hand, never letting go.
