The Abyss

Lu Tuo shrugged with a look of helplessness, “How plain! I thought girls liked colorful drinks!” He fetched two glasses from a nearby cabinet, filled them with water from the water dispenser, laughing, “This is more like something you drink when you’re thirsty, not really for guests, right?” Seeing Dong Qin still standing, he asked in surprise, “Why aren’t you sitting?”

Dong Qin glanced around at the ocean of design papers, “No, I’m just here to deliver the fax, I’ll leave right away.” She set down the fax, took a sip of water, and headed towards the door, pulling it—it was locked! She tried the doorknob, but this door was clearly unlike any she had seen before; she couldn’t open it after several attempts.

Dong Qin turned back helplessly, Lu Tuo was laughing so hard he bent over. “Your door… it’s quite special,” she said. “Could you open it for me?” Lu Tuo approached, hooking a strand of her long hair with his finger, sniffing it lightly, and whispered, “What if I say no?”

Dong Qin looked into his deep eyes, at that moment, as if enveloped by mist, she could see nothing but him.

  1. The Secret

Dong Qin stared at him intently, saying nothing. Lu Tuo suddenly laughed, “Don’t be so cold. You’ve seen my secret; you should think about how to make it up to me.”
