Dean chased after Ye Ye to the entrance, but his view was blocked by the influx of people. When the crowd dispersed, Ye Ye was nowhere to be seen. “Jones, check if Ye Ye is staying at this hotel!” Dean ordered in a deep voice to Jones, who was following behind. “Yes, President!” Jones responded with his usual seriousness.
“Running faster than a rabbit! Let’s see what I’ll do with you once I catch you!” Dean said, squinting his eyes in anger, muttering to himself. “President, if you rush out like this, your wife will get suspicious,” Jones reminded him. “So what?” Dean said nonchalantly. “Since you’re so concerned about Miss Ye Ye, should I look into her background? Her frequent coincidental appearances around you might be part of a bigger plan,” Jones said dutifully, his eyes full of concern. “No need, this is a game between her and me. If we knew each other’s backgrounds too soon, it wouldn’t be fun. Don’t worry, Jones, if she’s a wild cat with claws, I’ll tame her into a gentle pet!” As he spoke, a gleam of confidence and conquest flashed through his beautiful lake-blue eyes.
In a corner behind them, Misha listened to their conversation with tears in her eyes—she didn’t mean to eavesdrop, but now she knew her husband indeed knew Ye Ye and had an unprecedented interest in her, to the extent that he didn’t care if she was an enemy or not, he still wanted to possess her! More importantly, she called Dean “Huo”… which was the surname of Dean’s most revered grandmother… Misha felt like a failure; after knowing him for so many years and being married for over a year, Dean had never shown such love and possessiveness towards her… nor had he allowed her to call him “Huo”. Silently turning away, at least she loved him, so she didn’t want to be disliked and would prefer to stay by his side…
