The Escaping CEO

Xiaoyu took the note without saying anything.

”Remember not to lose it,” Yun Shaoyue said worriedly.

”I know, stop nagging! Just go already!” she said, pushing him toward the door.

In the Yun family living room, Mr. and Mrs. Yun were delighted to see their eldest son return after being away for many days.

However, Mrs. Yun couldn’t help but complain, “You child, you’ve been out for so many days and only return now.”

”Sorry, Dad, Mom,” Yun Shaoyue apologized for his out-of-line behavior.

”Your father and I were worried sick. You didn’t even call to say you were safe,” Mrs. Yun carefully examined her son for any injuries.

”Has everything been okay at home?”

”Nothing happened, except for your absence,” Mr. Yun replied.

Yun Shaoyue then asked, “Dad, what did the Zhan family say?”

”Your mother and I have already gone to apologize. Although they can’t forgive us, we can slowly find a way to resolve it.”

Mrs. Yun continued, “We want you to get married early so we can have grandchildren, but we never meant for you to casually marry someone.”

”I know.” After this escape, he understood his attitude toward marriage had indeed been too casual.

”If Yingji hadn’t mentioned it, your father and I wouldn’t have known you were unhappy with this marriage. We almost ruined our son’s lifelong happiness.”

”It’s not about being satisfied or not. Perhaps we just weren’t meant to be,” Yun Shaoyue explained.

His last sentence made Mrs. Yun think her son regretted running away, so she said, “If you still have feelings for Yilin, your father and I can…”

  ”No need, Mom.”

If he hadn’t met Xiaoyu, perhaps Yun Shaoyue would have thought marriage was just completing a responsibility, and remarrying Zhan Yilin to make amends would be fine. But now, he was very clear that he could never marry Zhan Yilin again.

”I see. If there’s no fate, there’s nothing to be done. We won’t force you to sacrifice your happiness. Regarding the Zhan family…”

”I’ll find time to personally apologize.” Since he had caused the mess, he was responsible for cleaning it up.
