The person slowly approached me, same outline, same appearance, same clothing, with only different, resentful eyes. I would never have such resentful eyes. “Who are you?” I asked confusedly. If not for her eyes, I would have thought I was standing before a mirror. I touched her outline, exactly like mine.
“I am you! I am the Ran Yan’er of this era, and you are the Ran Yan’er of your era. But these aren’t important now. What’s important is that I like you!” She said meaningfully, with an undisguised triumphant and scheming smile.
But the chilling wind swirled in the air, and that laughter still lingered around me, refusing to dissipate.
A sense of unease suddenly rose in my heart, and an ominous feeling surged.
I walked blankly towards another exit, towards bright light and fresh air. I finally escaped that suffocating place, but the laughter had not disappeared.
Now, the only thing I wanted to do was to hold onto my life. Preserving my life was the most important thing.
I walked desperately forward, trying to cling to what was ahead. However, the more I walked, the more alarming it became. It seemed an invisible wall blocked my path, yet I could still see things in the distance.
Familiar scenes, familiar feelings, everything had appeared countless times in her dreams. Even though my state of mind was different now, everything was so similar.
I looked vaguely at the endless sky, wondering where I was – I looked bewilderedly around at the white expanse, with nothing there.
In my confusion, I saw a blurry shadow lying sideways on the ground, with sorrowful eyes gazing into the distance, always emanating a subtle melancholy of parting.
I slowly walked closer, wanting to see the blurry shadow clearly, but it seemed there was an eternally impenetrable barrier.
From afar, I saw a half-reclining figure, with black hair mostly gathered up with a silver ribbon, the remaining hair draped over her shoulder. The woman wore a red sable fur coat.
Before her was a clear lake, with pure water accompanying a jade terrace. On the terrace sat the woman in red, facing the mirror-like water, playing with her hair. Her natural movements made her breathtakingly beautiful, yet one could feel the subtle coldness around her, with an inexhaustible charm and an unfading elegance.
