The First Demon Empress

The thick fog was like a translucent mirror; I could see everything ahead but could not distinctly make out their features.

Chapter Five: Silver Mask…

Behind the woman in red, a white-clad man approached her, with no discernible expression, only a white figure drawing near.

“Yan’er, he’s not worth it, absolutely not worth losing everything for!” A sorrowful voice mixed with melancholy yet incredibly gentle.

I listened quietly to his sad, hoarse voice, and my heart suddenly tightened—

“Cang, I’m sorry! Even knowing I’ll lose everything, I’ll still choose to leave, because in this life, I’m destined to regret!” Her soft voice carried an indescribable determination.

The man slowly drew a pure white jade from his waist. The transparent jade emitted a seductive dark light in the silver radiance, as beautiful as ever, but now with a cold chill spreading through the man’s body.

“This is your heart, yours alone—don’t refuse!” His voice carried an endless depth of feeling.

When the white-clad man slowly extended the pure white jade towards her, before it reached her hand, the jade suddenly fell to the ground. “Bang…” The crisp sound broke all tranquility, and at the moment the jade fell, I clearly saw a bright red light shoot out.

Shattered jade—the curse of reincarnation began to spin. They were destined to be entangled. My tightening heart intensified its movements.

The white-clad man stared blankly at the jade fragments on the ground, then turned to leave.

The moment he turned—I finally saw his face, wearing half a silver mask, yet still captivating, still impossible to look away from.

That familiar face, those eyes I had pursued in dreams for so long. But now his half-face was bloodless, his lips slightly trembling in the wind, his fingertips showing a faint paleness. His once-beautiful face bore an inexplicable sorrow.

The woman in red finally shed her tears at that moment. The woman, facing away from me, slowly turned towards me, and I finally saw her face—unmistakably the same as mine.

Her heartbreaking face bore an indescribable pain, yet was still indescribably beautiful.

I stood stunned, looking at the woman in red, wanting to reach out and touch her familiar face.
