After hanging up, Shen Mu smiled with a deeper meaning. Xu Ke glared at him, still pressing, “The password, tell me now!” From the moment she entered, she had been trying to keep her eyes on his face because looking anywhere else was inappropriate. He was too tall, and her neck ached from looking up. He seemed to enjoy watching her get angry, savoring it with an appreciative look. His nonchalant, unyielding attitude made Xu Ke wish she could pin him down and whip him with a small whip, but the scene seemed… she had seen it somewhere before, dealing with rogues requires rogue tactics, but she couldn’t bring herself to be a rogue woman… so she was left with internal injuries.
Shen Mu, smiling, said, “After dinner, I’ll tell you.” Xu Ke firmly said, “I’m not eating.” She was already full of anger, how could she eat? She had to admit, he was adept at infuriating and provoking people; she hadn’t lost control like this in years, feeling angry, helpless, and at a loss. He didn’t urge her to eat for energy or to fight better, just calmly crossed his arms, nodding towards the door lock, implying, “You decide what to do.”
Under someone else’s roof, one must bow, and Xu Ke felt this intensely at that moment. She quickly walked into the kitchen next to the hall, silently vowing never to come here again, or rather, never to see him again. She found some noodles in a drawer, then boiled them in plain water, hastily preparing two bowls of noodles which she brought to the dining table. He wasn’t in the living room, nor by the pool. She glanced into another room, and her heart skipped a beat, her face flushing. He was changing, lifting his arms to put on his shirt, revealing his solid abs. Thankfully, he had his pants on.
