“Alright! That’s settled then,” Bu Yuchen slapped his thigh, “Come on, while the tea is still hot, let’s all drink up.”
Chapter Two
No one had ever seen a bridal sedan that was not a sedan but a huge bed, carried from the bride’s home to the groom’s with the sound of gongs and drums. Seeing such a large bed, the groom didn’t need to kick open the door, nor did he need to lead the bride; they didn’t even have to perform the traditional rituals of bowing to heaven and earth, the parents, and each other. The bed was directly taken to the bridal chamber. However, the bed couldn’t fit through the door, so after some deliberation, it was moved to a guest room in the annex because only that room had a door large enough. Once the bed was placed and the dowry arranged, everyone rushed to the front hall for the wedding feast. In the temporary bridal chamber, only the bride on the bed remained, and from within the bed surrounded by red curtains came a sound.
“How am I supposed to find anything with this information?” Wu Xiaopei, or rather, Yan Xinmeng, looked at the note in her hand with frustration, sighed, and rolled her eyes in exasperation.
“How? Just follow the map!” Niu Qi was puzzled by her reaction.
Yan Xinmeng, hearing Niu Qi’s dismissive tone, felt her long-suppressed temper and patience almost explode. She glared fiercely at Niu Qi.
Niu Qi stared back at Yan Xinmeng, who was holding the note, with his large, bewildered cow eyes, not understanding why she was glaring at him, still thinking about the note from the Judge.
The note clearly stated “Black Fortress Gate” with a map drawn on it, so why was she sighing?
Yan Xinmeng looked up, her eyes filled with suspicion, and asked, “Are you sure this is from Uncle Judge and not something you wrote yourself?”
Seeing Yan Xinmeng’s distrustful gaze, Niu Qi didn’t think she was doubting his abilities; instead, he grinned broadly and said, “Wow, the Judge is amazing! He knew you’d ask that.”
“Niu Qi, tell me what’s going on!” Yan Xinmeng whispered angrily, trying to keep her voice low to avoid attracting attention from outside.
