Time-Traveling Love

As the night deepened, Liu Bugun sat up, wiping the sweat from Xu Caitong with a towel and helping her dress. “We need to leave here quickly,” he said, getting dressed. “Why?” Xu Caitong asked, puzzled by the urgency, especially since it was still night. “One must be cautious. Zhao Kuangyin…” Liu Bugun trailed off, deep in thought. “Zhao Kuangyin?” Xu Caitong exclaimed in surprise. “It was him who left us here?” “Yes,” Liu Bugun confirmed, seeing her astonishment. “Do you know him?” “Do you remember I told you I came from the future?” Xu Caitong asked. “Of course, I remember,” Liu Bugun replied, recalling her words to Guo Wei about Jinzhou, which fell without attack just as she predicted. “In Chinese history, Zhao Kuangyin was a general under Emperor Shizong of Zhou, known for his bravery. Later, in the Chen Bridge Mutiny, he was proclaimed Emperor of the Song Dynasty, known as Emperor Taizu of Song.” “Really?” Liu Bugun asked in disbelief. Xu Caitong nodded affirmatively. Liu Buqun immediately pulled Xu Caitong into his embrace, lowering his head to kiss her forehead and gently caressing her hairline. “Do you love me? Love someone from a different era than you?” “I love you, I love you,” Xu Caitong said, lifting her head. “Thank you, Rainbow.” Liu Buqun, holding Xu Caitong, looked up at the dark night sky and swore to the vast heavens, “Heaven and earth bear witness, I, Liu Buqun, love only Xu Caihong. Even if the mountains wear down, the heavens and earth merge, our love will never end, and our blood will flow. For all eternity, we will be together.” Suddenly, Xu Caihong saw the ancient heavens and earth in a hazy blur, where they played amidst the mist and chaos. Zi Yue was laughing and running, with Mo Xie chasing behind her. The clouds swirled, and Zi Yue’s laughter was like a spring breeze, her voice clear as a silver bell echoing in the vast space. Mo Xie, infected by her laughter, felt full of joy. The woman running ahead was his world, his everything. Mo Xie caught up to Zi Yue, grabbed her, and pulled her into his embrace. “Where are you running to now? You’re already caught, you can’t escape my arms,” Mo Xie laughed. Zi Yue fell into Mo Xie’s arms, panting slightly, her breath fragrant. Every move, every smile of hers stirred Mo Xie’s emotions. Mo Xie picked a cloud and gave it to his beloved; Zi Yue smiled shyly, placing the cloud on her head, and they twirled in the mist again. Seeing Zi Yue so enchanted, Mo Xie was moved, pulling her into his arms once more. “Zi Yue, my Zi Yue,” he murmured, kissing her and gently undoing her garments. Zi Yue opened her beautiful eyes, lying in Mo Xie’s embrace. Mo Xie caressed her skin, as delicate as if it could be broken by a mere touch, surrounded by swirling mist, as if she were lying on clouds. “Zi Yue, my Zi Yue. For all eternity, you will be my woman,” Mo Xie whispered, kissing her skin. “Mo Xie,” Zi Yue was lost in the sea of love, loving him, willing to be his woman for all eternity.
