Yandere Begs for a Break – Part One

If it were an ordinary girl, she would probably be too scared to speak, but Tao Yu felt no fear; instead, her heart was completely filled.

The car sped along the highway. Tao Yu suddenly wanted to open the window for some air, so she cracked the window, and the wind immediately rushed in, making her feel like she was back on the island: “You’re out now. What are your plans?”

The weather was a bit cool, and Yue Linze, afraid she might catch a cold, closed the car window, and the car interior immediately fell silent.

“What did you just say?” he asked.

Tao Yu smiled: “I said, now that you’re out, what are your plans for the future?”

“Are you going back to the island?” Yue Linze countered.

Tao Yu shook her head: “I’ll follow you.”

Although it was an expected answer, Yue Linze couldn’t help but laugh. After a while, he reached out and grabbed Tao Yu’s hand, gently saying, “Then I’ll have to work hard. Otherwise, how will I support you with your big appetite?”

“Do you have a plan?” Tao Yu’s heart sank, suddenly feeling inexplicably sad. But she didn’t stop him from continuing, because she knew this was the right way.

Yue Linze looked at the horizon, a smile playing on his lips: “I’ll earn money in the future, give you a life that everyone envies, and then we’ll have a child. You just focus on giving birth, and I’ll take care of everything else. I’ll teach him how to grow up, handle parent-teacher meetings, and you just need to be well…”

Tao Yu looked at the gradually fragmenting scenery outside the window, feeling a sourness in her heart. Yue Linze seemed unaware, looking at her and pinching her cheek: “Why do you look unhappy? Don’t want a child? It’s fine if we don’t, we can still be good together, as long as you’re by my side.”

Tao Yu looked at his easy smile, feeling empty inside. His body gradually blurred, and she took a deep breath and asked, “Are you happy now?”

“Very happy,” he said.

She laughed: “That’s good. At least in this moment of eliminating resentment, his heart has been completely freed.”

Yue Linze laughed, looking ahead, and after a while asked, “Will you remember me?”

Before Tao Yu could speak, everything around her collapsed, and when she opened her eyes from the chaos, she was back in the treatment room, still sitting on the sofa.

“Miss Tao, you’re awake?”

A servant immediately brought a glass of water. Tao Yu glanced at Yue Linze still sleeping on the bed, removed her equipment before standing up, and checked the time – only an hour had passed since last time.

Thinking about the treatment that took only three hours, yet she had experienced two love stories, each feeling like a long time, and both lovers had disappeared into thin air – her feelings were undeniably complex.

Tao Yu sighed, thanked the servant, and quietly stood by the bed waiting for Yue Linze to wake up. Soon, the person on the bed opened his eyes, and she hurried over: “Mr. Yue.”

Yue Linze stared at her for a long time, slowly saying: “You succeeded.”

“Yes, succeeded,” Tao Yu smiled, “We’ve resolved two now. I believe you’ll soon be free from the alternate personality disorder. Shall we continue?”

Yue Linze was silent for a moment: “No, let’s rest.”

“Okay,” Tao Yu immediately nodded, then helped remove the equipment.

After sitting up, Yue Linze reached out his hand. Tao Yu was stunned but quickly understood and helped him up. After standing, he let go of her, looked at the time, and said: “The doctor has worked hard. Let’s eat first, then continue the treatment.”

“Okay.” As the paying client, she naturally had no objections, though dining with such a big shot would likely cause her indigestion.

Yue Linze wore casual linen clothing and slowly walked out, with Tao Yu immediately following, always maintaining a not-too-near, not-too-far distance.

His back was thin, and through the thin fabric, his bones were slightly visible, seemingly not fully recovered from his previous incident. Though Tao Yu had never seen him before, she felt the alternate personality on the island probably had the same physique.

But he still looked good, with an excellent height, broad shoulders, narrow waist, and long legs… While Tao Yu was lost in thought, she suddenly bumped into him, too focused on her pain to care about her sore nose, she quickly stepped back: “Sorry, Mr. Yue.”

“What were you thinking?” Yue Linze suddenly asked.

Tao Yu touched her nose, laughing awkwardly: “Nothing, sorry.”

Yue Linze gave her a cold glance and continued walking. Tao Yu followed him to the dining room, where they met the butler.

“Sir, Dr. Tao,” the butler smiled and greeted them, “The kitchen prepared steak today. Please enjoy.”

Tao Yu smiled and nodded. Though she knew the spiritual world differed from reality, and the butler here was not the same as in the first world, she still felt a sense of familiarity.

“Thank you, Mr. Butler,” Tao Yu responded with a smile.

Yue Linze glanced at her without speaking. Soon, two steaks with side dishes were served. As the butler was about to leave, Yue Linze casually said, “Tell the kitchen to prepare another steak and salad, with soy milk.”

The butler nodded and left, soon leaving only the two of them in the dining room.

Tao Yu was curious why Yue Linze ordered an extra portion but decided not to ask. She waited for him to start eating before using her knife and fork.

Though the meal was awkward, the delicious food helped ease the tension, and Yue Linze didn’t have the habit of talking during meals. They managed to finish the meal without incident.

The only imperfection might be not having eaten enough. Tao Yu looked at the empty plate with regret. Yue Linze’s gaze remained fixed on her plate, a hint of a smile flashing in his eyes, and soon the butler brought what he wanted.

“For Dr. Tao,” Yue Linze spoke calmly.

Tao Yu was stunned: “For me?”

The butler was also surprised, quickly delivering the item to Tao Yu.

Tao Yu thanked him, her heart gradually rising: “To be honest, I really wasn’t full. But how did Mr. Yue know?” She was slim and didn’t look like someone who could eat much, and this was their first meal together. Why would he prepare so much for her?

Could it be that the memory truly existed? The alternate personality hadn’t disappeared but had merged with the main personality, completely preserving previous memories? As soon as this thought emerged, Tao Yu felt she was being crazy.

“All my previous doctors had big appetites,” Yue Linze explained casually.

Tao Yu looked at him questioningly but said nothing, lowering her head to continue eating. Yue Linze had already finished and sat waiting for her.

Tao Yu felt his gaze constantly on her, so intense it could burn her. After a while, she couldn’t help but look up, only to find Yue Linze wasn’t actually looking at her.

Tao Yu blushed, feeling she was being paranoid, thinking that just because the alternate personality liked her, the main personality was interested too. She finished the food the butler brought, feeling about 80% full. Looking at the steaming soy milk, she was sure drinking it would make her completely full.

She took a sip of the fragrant soy milk, feeling refreshed in every pore. Looking at Yue Linze, she asked curiously, “Why did you have the butler prepare soy milk for me?”

“Just out of prison, to dispel bad luck. Without tofu, soy milk will do,” Yue Linze said casually.

Tao Yu was listening seriously, but her smile gradually stiffened, and a huge fear suddenly rose in her heart: “…Do you have the alternate personality’s memories?”

Yue Linze stared at her for a long time before speaking: “Why do you ask?”

“You just said the same thing as the previous alternate personality,” Tao Yu forced a smile, feeling panicked thinking about her romance with the alternate personality in the patient’s mental world, “Do you have memories?”
