Since they started living together, they rarely finished a meal this silently.
After eating, Tao Yu carefully looked at Yue Linze’s flushed face and hesitantly asked, “Do you want to take your temperature?”
“No need,” Yue Linze said, seeing her hidden worry and comfortingly patting her hand.
Tao Yu was helpless and said, “If you’re not measuring, then rest early.”
Yue Linze nodded, watching her take her medicine before they both lay down on the bed.
As soon as the light was off, Tao Yu rolled into his arms. Yue Linze pushed her, but she wrapped herself around him, refusing to let go.
“Be good, let go,” Yue Linze frowned.
Tao Yu closed her eyes, “No, you’re too cold. I’ll warm you up.”
Yue Linze had been under cold water for nearly three hours, and his entire body was stiff. He hadn’t wanted to eat earlier because his hands were rigid and couldn’t hold chopsticks.
Now, with Tao Yu’s warm body covering him, he finally felt a bit of warmth.
They didn’t speak, eventually falling asleep together.
In the latter half of the night, Tao Yu was restless from the heat, half-dreaming she had a fever again. Struggling to wake up, she touched the person beside her and found their body was burning hot.
Tao Yu was startled, quickly turned on the light, and called the housekeeper, who immediately summoned the family doctor.
After the doctor finished the IV, Yue Linze slowly woke up.
The doctor, seeing the fever had subsided, gave some instructions and left.
Tao Yu noted everything down, then looked at Yue Linze with complex eyes, which he calmly returned.
The housekeeper looked between them, still worried about the master but feeling somewhat unnecessary, so he decisively left.
When only they remained, Tao Yu sighed, “My fever today was just an accident and had nothing to do with you. Why are you so concerned?”
So concerned that he would punish himself to alleviate his guilt. She always knew Yue Linze was obsessive, but didn’t expect it to this extent.
“You are mine. No one can harm you, including me,” Yue Linze said steadily, a hint of madness in his eyes.
Tao Yu stared at him, suddenly grateful this wasn’t the real world, and in her actual life, she didn’t have such an obsessive boyfriend.
