Most of the children in the class had already left, with only a few kids still playing with building blocks, refusing to leave despite the driver and caregiver’s persuasion. Xiao Fei was focused on drawing, when a child approached him: “Yue Zeng Yu, didn’t you say your mom would come pick you up? Why hasn’t she come yet? You’re lying, aren’t you?”
“I can’t be bothered to lie to you, she will definitely come,” Xiao Fei glanced at the child, and despite his young age, he exuded a sense of intimidation that was very similar to Yue Linze’s demeanor. The child was immediately silenced by his gaze.
This scene fell into Yue Linze’s eyes, and he raised an eyebrow: “You’re quite something.”
Xiao Fei heard Yue Linze’s voice and quickly looked up. Seeing no one behind him, he immediately looked disappointed. Yue Linze laughed: “What’s with that expression?”
“Where’s mom?” Xiao Fei pouted.
The class teacher hurriedly said: “Mom might be too busy. It’s also good for dad to pick you up. The teacher can play with you too, right?” She finished speaking and glanced at Yue Linze, feeling disappointed when he showed no reaction.
These staff members often referred to themselves as “mom” to get close to the children. They thought this statement would evoke some emotion in Yue Linze, but he remained unmoved.
Xiao Fei showed no expression, glanced at the class teacher, and said nothing.
Yue Linze came in to pack his schoolbag, giving him a sideways look: “Isn’t me picking you up enough?”
“I don’t like it. Don’t come again in the future,” Xiao Fei puffed out his cheeks.
Tao Yu entered just hearing this, and immediately laughed and asked: “Why? How did dad offend you?”
Xiao Fei was stunned, and seeing Tao Yu, he immediately smiled. His previously serious little face now blossomed like a flower. Ignoring the class teacher, he flew directly into Tao Yu’s arms, coyly saying: “Mom, why are you only coming now?”
Yue Linze pinched his face, despite his protests, and held him in his own arms: “Okay, you’re so round. Aren’t you afraid of tiring mom?”
“I’m not round!” Four-year-old Xiao Fei was extremely beautiful, but his body was quite chubby. He especially disliked being called fat. Hearing Yue Linze say this, he immediately protested angrily but stopped asking Tao Yu to hold him.
Tao Yu helplessly watched the father and son bickering, said goodbye to the class teacher, and pushed them out. The class teacher stood behind, staring at the happy family, unable to come back to her senses for a long time.
