Chapter One
Early winter. After a rain in the afternoon that cleared around three o’clock, the sky appeared especially clear and bright, with a cool breeze carrying a hint of chill that wasn’t unpleasant, but rather refreshingly comfortable. Just after four o’clock, students from Feng Yu High School poured out, chatting and laughing, creating a lively atmosphere.
Suddenly, someone raised their voice—
“Du Bingmei, Chen Zhiping says he’s fallen in love with you at first sight and wants you to be his girlfriend.”
“Don’t talk nonsense,” the embarrassed boy frantically covered his companion’s mouth.
Two men passing by happened to see this scene and smiled knowingly, their outstanding appearances immediately attracting the attention of many students.
“The one on the left is so handsome,” a few female students whispered to each other.
“The one on the right isn’t bad either, looks a bit roguish and charismatic.”
“I prefer the one on the left.”
“Me too, his eyes are so bright.”

Someone started waving and saying hi to the two men.
“Hello,” Jin Yuanhao, standing on the right and slightly taller, enthusiastically waved back. He was about to approach the pretty girls when he suddenly received a sidelong glance and a warning.

What frustrated Jin Yuanhao was that walking with such a woman meant people always noticed her first before acknowledging his presence.

“Do you believe in love at first sight?” Shi Xuan gazed at the group of energetic teenagers, her sharp eyebrows furrowing as a distant look crossed her face.
“Love at first sight?” Jin Yuanhao rubbed his chin, raising an eyebrow mischievously. “Maybe when I was a teenager, now I’m more interested in one-night stands.”
She shook her head, as if lamenting for a patient.
“A man who thinks with his lower body is no different from an animal.”
He put his arm around her shoulder in a brotherly manner. “That’s why, even if you’re more handsome and popular with women, you’re not a real man. You don’t understand the physiological differences between men and women. Women fall in love with emotions, men with bodies. Got it?”
After speaking, he winked and added suggestively, “Hey, how about we try dating?”
She rolled her eyes, too lazy to respond to such a stupid question.
“Are you afraid of falling for me, baby?” Jin Yuanhao persisted.
“If you’re bored, focus on solving the case,” she brushed off his hand and walked ahead, ignoring his provocation.
Suddenly, screams erupted near the school campus—

They turned around, expecting to see a shameless pervert harassing female students, only to discover the “pervert” was actually a husky dog.
Its back was covered in fluffy light golden short fur, with a white face and limbs, and blue eyes as bright as sapphires, looking quite adorable.
The dog weaved between girls in skirts, mischievously pushing its head into a dark red pleated skirt, causing the girls to scream and panic.
“Damn perverted dog, don’t try to escape!” Some male students heroically jumped to catch the naughty dog.
“Woof woof woof woof…” The dog barked excitedly, jumping among the crowd, playing and impossible to catch.
“Hmph, more agile. Let’s see how I catch you,” Jin Yuanhao joined the pursuit.
With his trained reflexes, he came close to catching the dog several times, but it always managed to escape at the last moment.
The dog seemed to recognize Jin Yuanhao’s unusual agility and became more playful, barking provocatively.
“Woof woof woof…” The barks seemed to mock his clumsiness.
“Are you challenging me?” Jin Yuanhao rolled up his sleeves, determined to catch the dog.
On the red brick path outside the school, a man and a dog chased each other, with the dog always far ahead. Occasionally, it would stop and bark mockingly at Jin Yuanhao, driving him to frustration.
After chasing for hundreds of meters without success, he couldn’t help but roar, “Don’t run, stand still, and let’s have a real showdown!

Her thoughts were pulled back by Jin Yuan Hao’s voice. She was shocked to find him standing in front of a courtyard in a quiet alley.
Several towering old trees in the yard densely covered a two-story building. Without looking closely, she could accurately tell that the house hidden behind the old trees was a Baroque-style building, probably nearly a hundred years old.
The ancient exterior was still well-maintained and clean. The front yard had five trees over a hundred years old, and the back yard similarly had six large trees, with hammocks set up between them – perfect for cool summer sleeping.
This was… her breath caught, and she slowly walked over, looking up at the green-filled old trees, blinking.
“Boss, did you run out and cause trouble again?” A lazy, magnetic voice came.
“Woof…” The dog sat at the entrance, wagging its tail friendlily.
Seeing someone walk out from the entrance, Jin Yuan Hao angrily questioned, “Hey, is this your dog?”
“Temporarily, yes. What’s the problem?” The warm voice was very polite, with steady steps walking towards the ornate iron gate.
“You…” Catching sight of the man approaching the gate, Jin Yuan Hao swallowed his harsh rebuke, his tone instantly softening. “This dog is very mischievous. Just now at the high school, it rudely stuck its head under a girl’s skirt, causing the girls to scream.”

His eyes narrowed slightly, with tree leaf shadows casting on his noble face, hiding the excitement that flashed momentarily. The corner of his mouth lifted slightly, revealing a dimple on his left cheek.
“Hi, long time no see.” His beautiful deep eyes locked onto that familiar face, greeting casually.
Shi Xuan was stunned, her bright eyes narrowing in the sunlight.
“Long… time no see.” Her low voice carried complex emotions.
